There is also another tie to East Cobb Baseball at C-Town this week even though they don't have a team there. A kid on the Greenbriar Panthers plays at ECB also, hopefully one way or another Georgia will get the trophy again this week !!

Guys, Can you tell that ole bmoser is pumped. I am so glad that he is there living a memory that should last him forever. I know that it has for me. I have had the great pleasure and blessing to have been at this most sacred of baseball places 4 times and will never forget the time that I spent there. If you truly love baseball this place will send goose bumps up and down your body. Reading bmoser describe the putt-putt golf challenge took me right back to being there with the Bandits and the Chiefs.

Georgia is looking great in week #5 with 4 Georgia teams still undefeated including bmoser. Good luck guys and continue to win and but most of all continue to enjoy and have fun making memories and sharing your passion for baseball with the ones that you love.

Sharon Springs Blue and Black, and the Dunwoody Destroyers are all undefeated at 7-0 and made the sweet 16. 3 more games to go to bring home the Holy Grail.

Hunker down one more time, and step on their faces with a hobnail boot!

Go Georgia!

Great job SS having 2 teams in the Top 10 and making the Sweet 16. Looks like this week is sticking to form more so than last week. All of the Top 10 held serve in their first bracket game.

1 Question-How did a 3-3 team end up the 104 seed? Did they have to leave?

Kind of looks that way since their first bracket game was a 6-0 score which would also indicate that they forfeited that game.

Not only is the Southeast dominant in football but it appears we are just as dominant in baseball.

Huntsville Baseball Club wins week 5 11-9 over a good Florida team.

Domination attributed to all the Yankee athletes migrating to southeast over past number of years!

The real story on the 3-3 Ridgewood Rebels from NJ that finished pool play in the 104 spot is this:
Thay are a Little League All-Star team and needed to leave Dreams Park to head to a district all star tournament. If they would have missed the district all star tournament they would have been out for their chance at Williamsport and the Little League World Series. They were up front with the Dreams Park personnel and were placed with the 104 seed and were not present for the start of Bracket play and therefore Forfeited to the 103rd ranked team from Canada, 6-0.

The GA teams of ECB Stars, Scorpion Baseball, and Norcross Blue Devils are doing very well in Cooperstown week 6. They are all either undefeated or only have 1 loss through 6 games. Way to represent our state! Wills Park is also there, but are at 2-3 with one game to play.

So basically this team took a spot from all the waitlisted teams so that they could quit after 6 games and move on.............. Wow! Do they get to keep their grandfather certificate?

Scorpions made it to the final 8 but lost a hard fought battle to the Louisiana Force 9-7

Week 6 final 4 =
#1 seed Tennessee Naturals vs #4 seed 3N2 Bombers (FL)
#2 seed Mac-N-Seitz Indians(KS) vs #3 Louisiana Force
Should be some great ball at 3pm

Week 6 3N2 Bombers are really 1/2 Port St. Lucie Mets and 1/2 Charlotte Megastars. These two teams both played in week 4, so I guess they joined forces, then returned to try again. I thought Cooperstown sold out? How do you form a team in week 4, then return in week 6?

The other 3 look to be real teams who have played together all year.

The TN Naturals just beat 2N3 Bombers, so I guess the 2nd try fell short.

How are you seeing their rosters, or are you just well-connected. :)

The 3N2 Bombers have the grandson of the owner of Cooperstown on their team so thatmay have helped with getting a spot. The word around here at Cooperstown is that their team was put together just to win this and that they had kids from all over and had never played together until this week. Supposedly they flew in one or two kids last night but who knows for sure.
All I know is they had us down 7-1 in the 4th and our kids pulled out an amazing comeback and the stresss about killed me .....but this place is awesomwe!!!
One more to go hopefully we can bring it home to the southeast again!!

I can honestly say, having coached 2 kids in travel ball from age 8 ( 3 trips to Cooperstown), the Port St. Lucie Mets were, by far, one of of the most arrogant teams I have ever played against.

One of their players was suspended 2 games for physically picking up a kid an throwing him to the ground because he was picked off at 1st (I couldn't believe they even let him stay in the tournament much less the park for that matter). Against us, one of their players slid into 2nd, cleats up around waist high, and kicked the ball out of our 2nd baseman's glove on a double play attempt. Cockiness was ramped throughout the team. Their coaches totally ignored their bush league behavior.

It was most satisfying to eliminate them from the tournament!

The players names were shown on the C'Town web site during the webcast, then I wrote them down and went to USSSA web site and clicked the "Athletes" tab. When I found a player listed, I then looked at all the other names on the roster.

Nice. You could have been an investigative reporter. I do a lot of that kind of USSSA research, or used to when I was a coach, but you put me to shame.

Sandy Plains Wildcats advance to Sweet 16 at Cooperstown
The Sandy Plains Wildcats are the last Georgia team standing in week 7 at Cooperstown. Powered by great starting pitching and timely hitting, the 5th seeded Wildcats will take on the Kansas City Barnstormers with a chance to make it to the final 8 on the line. Wish the 'Cats good luck as they continue to represent Georgia travel baseball.
