ATPP would like to say congrats to the Bandits for winning the Cooperstown Title. Coach Troy has always been a 1st class operator when playing at our park.
Congrats also to the FCA Redhawks who posted a 1st and 2nd seed after days one and part of two. Had to be a blast for the kids with all that firepower present at Cooperstown. Got to love the beauty of the random 104 team pool play to create great memories. |

WEEK 4: I think this will be another stellar week for Georgia teams. We have quite a few strong teams there week 4. More depth than we've thrown at them so far. I hope Georgia teams don't face off too much in brackets and knock each other out. |

For this week I think a team called Wakulla Lazers will make some noise, heard they picked up some old Bay Bomber kids and a player that used to play for Team Florida. |

Papa will go out on the limb and predict that Georgia will win 3 in a row. The Titans will be tough on the short porches and should do well in this format. Let's remember that the 643 Panthers went 6-0 before getting beat and that the 643 Cougars won it all so let's not count out the 643 Jaguars. I also like the Ga.Jackets on these fields.
If General Robert E. Lee had been fighting with baseball bats and balls instead of muzzle loaders the South would be running that place in Cooperstown, NY. |

Isn't that what happened, the South fought with bats and balls and the North brought guns? |

And we still put up the good fight. By the way is that war completely over or is it still being fought on some fronts. |

I'm not so sure about the love for the random 104 team field. There are 18-20 Major teams this week at Cooperstown and GJ Gold plays 4 of them in our first 4 games. For 3 of the 4, we're the only Major team they drew. Guess we'll get to see a lot of good pitching this week :) But our coaches and kids aren't complaining.
I believe the Titans and Jags both have 1 Major on their schedule and at least 3 AA teams. I don't think the A's play any majors. So I do like GA teams chances. |

Coach Mark you guys should not be surprised. You guys have played a very very tough schedule all year long. I am sure your guys will do good. Your kids are used to playing the good teams. Good luck this week. |

Georgia is well represented in the 4th week at Cooperstown Dream Park. Site seeing is over and it's time to get to the job at hand and that job is to play a lot of baseball in a short amount of time. For all that have been there we know that if we were horse racing that today would be be the final turn and tommorrow will be the stretch run. This tournament puts a lot of stress on a team's pitching and team stamina. The Georgia teams have put themselves in a great position to make a run to bring the Hall of Fame trophy back to Georgia the third consectutive week. We are proud of all of you guys and hope all of you the best of luck. You have all represented our State very well and we thank you all.

We have 3 in the sweet 16: EC Titans, 6-4-3 Jags, and Alpharetta A's.
Hated to see GA Jackets Gold and EC Renegades go down today. Both had very nice runs as did the N GA Storm and Roswell team.
Keep it going Georgia! |

Down to 1 Georgia team. 6 of the top 10 gone. The highest seed from the left bracket is the 12 seed. The 40 is still playing on Thursday!

Looks like 40 may be playing ECB Titans for the championship. Megastars had 2 tough battles to get to the Titans and they just ran out of pitching. Won both with last at bat. The South is doing well at CDP, and hopefully that string continues. Good luck Titans. |

I certainly do not want to jinx Georgia but does anyone know how many times the championship has been won 3 straight weeks by any State. I know that California had several good years but I would be interested to know what the record is for consectutive championships won by a State. |

They did not win 3 in a row... but in 2008 FL teams won 6 of the weeks.

Who is Cooper City and where did they come from? I cant even find a Cooper City in Texas, There is a Cooper Texas. USSSA has no team listed, and USSSA looks pretty big down there.

I knew that Florida has had several great runs at Cooperstown and winning 1/2 of the weeks is very impressive. |

Thank you Papa and all of the folks that cheered the Georgia teams on. It was an honor and a priviledge not only to get to the championship but to be fortunate enough to win it against a very well coached and scrappy team from NY.
Best of luck to your Bandits in the Elite 32! Go get another Title for GA! |

Cooper City is from Florida. They're listed as a Major from South Florida USSSA as Cowboys. Georgia Jackets beat them in pool play 10-7. |

Cooper City is a suburb in the northern part of Broward County. Near Fort Lauderdale. |

Report from Cooperstown... Deluge mid way through 2nd wave of games, and I do mean wave. They have a small army of grounds crew folks, and the fields drain very well.
SS Blue is up 4-1 in bottom or 3rd in their 2nd game. I see the scoreboard on-line is stuck on some prior game.
Gotta get back to the park. There's a small traffic jam preceding each wave of games outside the entrance to the park.

Within 2 hours of a prolonged downpour, they were ready to play on all 22 fields...amazing.
SS Blue's field conditions were good and the boys won game 2. Both day 1 opponents were AA's.
Today, SS Blue gets a Major 2-0 team from SoCal, then a 1-1 Major team from Ohio.
SS Black could run the table and go 6-0.
Chain DD's got the toughest draw of all 104 teams. Their first 4 pool opponents are now 8-0.
The range of team skill levels is wide. I'd say from low AA to High Majors. I don't think there are any Elite teams here in week 5, but its tough to tell only 2 games in. It's too time consuming to research all 103 teams, so I just looked at SS Blue, SS Black, Chain DD, North Gwinnett Black opponents, then looked at all the teams from warm weather States.
Some northern teams don't play USSSA, so its hard to gather results on them to assess strength. Best to just Google their team name and see what comes up.

I fully expect that my good friend bmoser might get inducted into the Cooperstown Hall of Fame as the best statatician of all time while he is there and might even be invited to be the guest scorekeeper at Doubleday field. He has more information than Howard Cosell ever did. Good luck to you guys and don't sell Georgia short. Your kids play in one of the most competitive baseball states in the nation and we are very proud of you all and know that you will represent our state very well. |

PaPa, SS Blue trading pins are trading at a 2.5 pins to one ratio. My son held out his supply hoping the stock would rise, and now it has. He could wind up sitting pretty. Future commodity trader?
Not sure who won our teams putt putt event tonight, but it gave speed golf a whole new meaning. The boys thought it was who got it in the hole 1st that counted rather than the fewest strokes. We just sat back and watched. It looked more like hockey than golf.
Who knows what tomorrow holds, but for now, life is good.
Georgia baseball's street cred is generating buzz. Local Umps are telling stories about the Bandits, and most seem to know about GA's 3 week run.
The Northern States do not want to see that they are playing a team from GA. I think we have some more work to do to with the Southern States however.
Best of luck to all our GA teams in their end of year endeavors.
