Thats true with their Usssa record. However for whatever reason they played WAY above their record this past week at Cooperstown. Now as for the teams in Cooperstown that reached the quarters and semi's. I can tell you those teams were not A, AA or AAA. They all were high lvl Major teams on a 200 ft fence. Now I am not sure how many players each of these teams added or if they did at all. But based on the pitching and hitting we saw from the quarter finals on. All these teams were tough.

Everyone knows that the majority of the teams in Cooperstown are at the level of AA and A. Perhaps 8-10 teams are of Majors category each week. On some weeks, the competition is even weaker. It appeared to me that week #1 was one of those with very few strong teams. Lucky for the Georgia Bandits that they weren't there. They would have been extremely bored.
G-man: I'm glad your son performed well. I wouldn't have expected less from a kid accustomed to play along with much older and stronger kids. Its a shame there was so much politics at the time of the championship game. You can never get rid of politics!

The Midway dirty dawgs are 4-2.... We are having a blast. ... The one thing that I could not plan for is the exhaustion factor. The boys walk and walk and walk. The fields and cages are spread out and the terrain is real hilly. Regardless, it all lives up to the hype. All the fundraising and long hours of planning are worth it. I am so glad my boys having gotten to live the dream.

The weather this week has been awful. Rain and more rain. The fields drain incredible though. Speaking of the fields they are perfect. You could eat off of the grass. It is the best natural surface I have ever seen.

We made into the finals in the skills-around the horn. Really proud of our time. 22.2 !!!!!! The home run derby - was this morning and a kid/ man child hit two that went over 325ft. He was from the west pine cobras. He won it with 6 BOMB. He is 6'2 195. A beast....

Wish us luck we are the 28 seed in a very very tough week of teams. Their are some great teams here this week. Really fun to see this quality of teams. We play tonight !!!!

Crossing my fingers and hoping we can get "HOT" !!!!!!

Watched Bandits play little team from Hawaii on the Internet... almost uncomfortable to watch as Bandits put 15 up in the first inning. However, It was very cool to see the Bandits players going over and talking with the Hawaii kids during pitcher changes etc. You could even see a Bandits player go over to the pitcher who just got shelled, moved to first, and give him a high five... no doubt giving him some encouraging words and showing great sportsmanship. That stuff is priceless and means so much more that the 29-0 result. Congrats...

I've been a Bandits booster for 5 years now, and a big part of my support comes from their sportsmanship. They are very proud, as they should be, yet humble at the same time. Those family's are incredible. I'm also a fan of the family's that helped build their team from the outset, but are no longer with them today. They too should be proud of the teams legacy because they helped build the foundation.

It really stinks that the only game I want to see this morning on Cooperstown TV is the Bandits and it is the ONLY camera having technical difficulties. Go get em boys.

Papa will tell you that the score was a big topic at the tournament with several of the better teams wanting to get a shot at the team that scored the runs and may have painted a bullseye on their back with this score. I can't say a lot as the Bandits were playing at the time but we kept getting updates that were hard to believe.

There is 2 sides to this and I would never take the side that says to have your guys intentionally make an out. But I would take the side that the Bandits generally take in this situtation and that is to have our kids working on switch hitting, switch hit and do bunt more. And also in defense of the high scoring team, I don't know if there was anything that they could have done to slow things down but for the love of the game and in respect for the other team I hope that they were at least trying.

Nice move by the Bandit kids. I predict their opponent in the finals will be the Miami Titans. Could be wrong, but they seem to be a really good hitting team from what I have been able to watch. I still don't think anyone will beat the Bandits. Looking forward to watching it tonight!!!

We go week 7 and I can't wait. Next week with the 10's will not be as fun to watch for is 12u fanatics, but I will still check in from time to time.

Miami Titans got beat 15 - 2 by the Memphis Outlaws from TN. I watched the team West Pine Cobras, that will be the team facing Bandits in the Final. They were also the #1 seed. Should be a good Finals no matter what happens.

I heard a story today about the West Pines Cobras I hope someone at CDP can confirm. They were tied 10-10 and a boy hit a 3 run HR. When he dropped the bat for his trot, the end cap came off and a tennis ball fell out. They were allowed to advance, but are currently getting shelled by the Memphis Outlaws. Can anyone else confirm this story. If this happened, that is disgraceful by that team. For pete sakes, the fences are only 200 feet.

I was told a story by an umpire that umpires several weeks a year at Cooperstown. He told me that a few years ago there was a team that scored a lot of runs on another team and made no effort to curb the run totals and by the next morning there were over 1000 of that teams pins sitting on their barracks doorstep. I took that as meaning its not a good idea to run scores up at Cooperstown.

For all that know the Bandits know that we did switch hit many times and that we only advanced one base at a time. The Hawaii kids were great kids and our kids really took a liking to them. And to some of, you please know that the Bandits are not interested in what the "haters" think. You will find something to complain about regardless of what the Bandits do or don't do. Good luck to you and I hope you will be as successful coaching your team as you do ours.

I know it was being discussed around the fans this morning but since I never saw it or talked to anyone who did I don't know. It was being discussed but I heard a couple of guys talking that it was a powdery substance - they are from South Fla ya know , just kidding.

BANDITS WIN...BANDITS WIN....BANDITS WIN!

Congratulations to Cooperstown week #2 champions! Our Bandits beat the Memphis Outlaws 12-0 in the final game. I particularly enjoyed the Bandits victory against the Lamorinda Diablos. I saw them as the Bandits toughest opponent, and biggest threat.

I posted on another thread that I didn't buy a 12U throwing 82mph. I am a believer! I still didn't see the gun, but after watching the kid from the Bandits, I would believe 82, 92, or even 102. He is unhittable at this distance. Unhittable, but not unbeatable. There are always bad nights with control or defense and then some lucky hits that might get you beat. But 98% of the time, this kid is going to win on the mound. He was throwing GAS last night. Another item on the kid. I spoke to him after their quarterfinal game for a minute. It was yes sir and no sir. That may be what gets the kid the furthest in life. Congratulations to the Bandits for dominating the tourney. They are very good. If the stay healthy, they should be favored at the Elite. Also, congrats to the Outlaws who represented TN well. My Cherokeee boys had a good time and I think really enjoyed the "experience". This was my 2nd trip to Cooperstown, and I am ready to go again in 6 years with my youngest - but without the rain.

I think the Bandits would have dominated week #1 at Cooperstown. TN RBI Rangers have played in triple crown in Georgia with Cherokee baseball and look to me like Very good AAA to low major teams. Bandits are in a class by themselves. Congrats to all the winners at Cooperstown.

I think the Bandits would have had a tougher time week 1. One thing I learned about Cooperstown was that Usssa, AAU and Nations rosters didnt match several of the Cooperstown rosters that week. Hence players were brought in to some of the teams.

As the other poster mentioned. With that pitcher pitching for the Bandits from 50ft pitching mound. He is going to win 98% of his games. Im personally looking forward to seeing the Bandits make that jump in the fall or spring to the 60/90 field unless they choose to play just 54/80.

Congratz to the Bandits for winning week 2. Looking forward to them hopefully being able to play in the Elite 32 and seeing how they stack up at Disney.

You can always count on G-MAN to find a way that the Bandits won't win next year. I wonder if he thinks his kids are going to stay at the same distance when Bandits move to the next distance. Will someone please tell him that the same thing has been written since the Bandits were 6 years old and that they just keep on winning. I am almost glad that most of them don't read the forums or they would have just laid down and rolled over 5 years ago. If the kids keep working hard and the Coaching continue to develop their talents the right way then I feel sure that they will keep having fun and hopefully win more than they lose.

Papa thats you putting words in my mouth. Re-read my post. Did I say the Bandits wouldnt win once they made the move up to the 60/90 field??? Thats your subconscious maybe telling you that BUT those words didnt come out of my mouth. You know what holes you have on your team better than anyone. If you have no holes then your team should reign on the big field as well but time will tell us all as to how our teams will do once they step up and play on the big field.

To be fair, the absolute dominance by any team begins to end at 13u. Teams will start to catch up some because the pitchers won’t be as dominant. That is not a shot at the Bandits at all, so please don’t take it that way. I’m sure they will still be a great team and one of the best in the nation. Even the greatest 12u teams I’ve ever seen started to lose more games at 13, that is just the way it works.

G-Man, As long as you have been around and as many teams that you have played for you must know that whatever holes we or even you for that matter have will be filled with glue next year. That is if we or you plan to continue to win. If you are not moving forward then you must be moving backward's. There is no big huge secret to being successful.

i think what the bandits have done since they became a team is awesome. they are a great group of kids that know how to win and are classy as well.the funny thing that i see is that when anyone says anything that isn't pro-bandit someone jumps on them like they are the bad guy. of course being #1 people are going to be gunning for you. don't be so sensetive when someone doesn't praise everything that they do. i am one who brag's about their performance and hopes that they represent georgia like they can. i am also getting tired of seeing a person get put down when they question anything that they do. just my honest opinion...

gtown71: You are most likely right in your assessment and I admit that I am a bit overzealous in my protection of our kids. My skin is probably a bit sensitive when it comes to these kids due to the love that I share and respect that I have for each one of them. I guess that I just lash out at what I call the "haters". We should all respect each other and share the joy of the game together. We are all in different stages of our journey with some close to their goals and others building the blocks so that they might reach their goals. The game has plenty of room for us all.

I apologize if I offended but I have read this mess about next year being the year that the Bandits will begin to lose for 5 years now. I agree with the posts that the bigger fields are the great equalizer but only time will truly tell. I will try not to be so easily offended if the "haters" will promise to wait until they fall apart before you pick them apart.

By the way, several of boys played middle school ball at 60/90 and they took to it like a duck to water so next year might the year the Bandits fall but then again it might be when they start 40years and older before they crumble.
