Papa has been told that Bo Jackson could pass for his son but I don't ever remember being down in the Alabama neck of the woods so I think that is just all talk. |

I don't think its ever a waste of time, but I do think the amount of leisure time a baseball Dad/Coach has will impact his posting activity level. I haven't had a "real job" in 8 years (they keep extending unemployment, and that covers my tourney gate/concession costs) so have ample time to attend tourneys, and tell story's. I would have never had the time during my Fortune 500 days, or would have been too tired.

moser must a real self made man to have it to the Fortune 500. Papa only made it up to the Unfortunate 11. I do have a real world job but when I get back home the first thing that I do is to catch up on the youth baseball world. |

Maybe most don't post because they listen to their wive, unlike I do, when she says "You don't need to offer your opinion about everything baseball related."

Alter - I guess wives should be thankful that we know where you go in cyber space and who your friends are.
I posted a topic a while back and no one but Alter-ego replied, so I just lurk now. |

I don't post much. However, the times I do and disagree with another poster my comments are not added to the board. It's hard to get difference of opinions when only one side of the argument is heard. I'm thinking about changing my screen name to papabaseball just so I have a voice. JMHO. |

yarddog: You can be sure that baseballpapa has had many posts that didn't make the cut but what I tried to do was to post again and tone the rhetoric down and try not to make my posts sound like a personal attack aimed at another poster. I think that this moderator does a great job of keeping things in perspective and making sure that this site is one that the kids can read and that the site stays more on the positive side of things. |

People don't always have the time to post. Busy schedules being what they are, posting is time consuming. First you got to gather your thoughts, then type well enough - all without being redundant.
Also, the commitment to a topic is more than some care to get into. 'Cause once you've posted and someone offers a counterpoint, you're almost obligated to reply to that post and counter the counter-post and so on and so forth - some threads can get long, ya know.
Lastly, I want to say that I, too, participate in other discussion groups, and this one is - by far - one of the most cordial and respectful around. No doubt a credit to the moderator and the frequent contributors.
