A good friend told me recently that they read the posts daily, but don't post themselves. Everyone has opinions, but I get the feeling that only a small portion are willing to share them. I don't think there's a more friendly travel baseball forum than this one. As a chronic poster, I'd like to see some more new faces (nothing against the regular mugs). If I can do it, anyone can (no comments from the peanut gallery). |

I also see many people that tell me that they read the posts daily but do not post themselves. Every one on this site is extremely well mannered and although we do not agree on all topics we seem to all respect each other's right to their opinion. Come on out guys and let us know what you are thinking. Match wits with the big boys and you might be surprised how little they really know. |

While it is possible to post a genuine disagreement on this site, one is just as likely to be arbitrarily censored by the "man behind the curtain" with no discernable difference between an acceptable and a prohibited post. If expletives are used or someone is abusive, I get it, otherwise just post it for heaven's sake. I understand the need to avoid a conflagration, but a couple screenings by Big Brother was enough for me. With the exception of this post (which is, at least, being read by the intended recipient), I'll just read Papa's musings from time to time and smile knowing he gave my boy a leg up once upon a time. |

My first year in, son playing 9U, I don't have experience to draw upon. Looking forward to first tournaments and seeing how boys make the transition to kid pitch. Expect to post more as the season goes on. Love this site! |

gasbag: #1 learned a lesson in humility. He is a good athlete and he felt that this would automatically carry over into his wrestling career. He went as far as to tell me that he was going to win them all. First match out he met up with a kid that had been wrestling since he was 4 and several time state champion in the youth divisions. He tore big boys head up and had him twisted like a pretzel before the ref slapped the mat. Papa was crying he was laughing so hard. Papa was runner up state champion back in the day and I knew fully well that wrestling is very unique and not to be taken lightly. A very good lesson for my boy and after all was said and done he won about 1/2 of the matches. I can't wait to see you guys and hope you are doing well. |

It's like talk radio, only 2% of the listeners actually call in. |

My guess is the readers enjoy the knowledge they receive from Moser as well as the amusement they get from Papa and his soapbox. |

That's one heck of a rookie season going +- 500. ! There is no other sport like wrestling which can humble a soul. They either raise your hand, or your opponents and there is no one to blame the loss or win on but yourself. To date, I have found wrestling the best teacher of life lessons and self learning and insight. I'll tell you another thing, No. 1 grandson will have increased his already Sampson like strength / quickness and knock the cover off of the ball this season. I can't wait to see you guys up at the ball fields !

Having been guilty of sponging off the many interesting comments I am often reluctant to offer differing opinions fearing that I may offend someone (we are all parents or grandparents {which makes us a parent too} and generally do not take to critiscism of our young lads or our efforts to support thier/our love of this game). That being said I think the only dialogue missing on most of these links/blogs is candid disagreement. Disagreement is often where new ideas or paradign thoughts are born. To those reading these posts, let's step up and share all of our comments, both in agreement and disagreement. |

I am hoping that when Papa and Moser reach there 1000 post mark they will retire like Greg LOmax did or change their Identity. |

JCB: It's a delicate balancing act to disagree w/o being offensive.
Baseball 37: Time must be prioritized. It does take more time to post than to read. Is that where you are coming from?

I won't change identities, so I'll retire like Lomax. I sure do miss him, but by 1000 posts, you've said all you have to say. I only have a few more topics left in me that might spur any interest whatsoever. They don't come as easily as they once did. The end is near.

Would love to post more but being from the southern part of the state I don't as much knowledge on the local subjects. Envy the baseball haven you guys live in. Struggling here to just find talented kids that parents will support the travel required. |

Papa ain't considering retiring. I am going for 5000 posts. Most of you know that I never run out of things to say. 1/2 of what I say is not right but it's so far out there that you don't know if you believe it or not. |

I've belong to several forums on many different topics over many years and it is always the same...it is the nature of the net I suppose...they are known as "Lurkers"...people who watch the conversations but hardly if ever write anything...As the athletes say now days "It is what it is".... |

I chime in from time to time when I think I have something to add. I can tell you I visit other boards quite regular and this one is much more civilized. Other boards can be brutal if you post a differing opinion. |

dblinkh1, what forums r u referring 2. I only post here, occasionally, and have not had the opportunity to get into a text-war-of-words...................Most folks here r polite. Some r a bit condescending, but for the most part they are truly trying to b helpful in a tactful manner. |

I participate on several boards...seems to me there is always a group whom participate that like to read what they write ( similar to hearing themselves talk ! ). I like a diversified response from a variety of folks. Gives me a better perspective of where people are coming from with their opinions. I truly have an appreciation for the open discussions where I can get FACTS and it may change my opinion ! I see too many folks with closed minds, stuck in their way and their opinions regardless of the facts.
Gas for gas sake is just that....gas ! |

I would rather people not post than to post under a secret identity and take stabs at other people. |

Becasue it is a waste of time talking about 9-14 year old baseball for people that have real jobs. |
