I broke one of my own cardinal rules about who & who not to respond to. Should not have wasted my time. Sorry for wasting everyone else's too. Here's to another weekend of great weather and good baseball. |

Okay, we'll grant you a mulligan, but not a small bucket, so take some time and give us your best swing!

Naw CoachMark I have no idea who you are or what team you are with, I just think that you should never go into a fight thinking you are gonna lose. And people probably should never take any team lightly, that is why there are upsets. Good luck to you this weekend and I hope you and your team shock some people....Except my friends from Team GA! |

Boys, I have reread my last few postings and I can't find anything that suggests that Papa wants to play the Astros. Papa has alzeihmers disease but he is not mentally ill. If we play them in the natural progress of things then fine but Papa does not wish, want, or look forward to playing them at all. |

How about the Xplosion team coming down here and getting Team GA and Holly Springs in pool!! That's not a very warm welcome for a team from out of state !! Hmmm, wonder if Tony did that on purpose ?? |

I have the same. 6 teams going 2-0 in pool, and same as Titan1... Team Georgia vs Bombers in finals. Bombers win the tourney. I cant see any surprises popping up in this one, but it is baseball after all. I cant wait to get one of those ATPP jumbo-sized hot dogs.

Titans Vs 643 Cougars should be a great early game. |

I see the most pivotal pool game as being the 6-4-3C vs EC Titans in the cold weather early Saturday morning. They could play a rematch Sunday morning. |

Never meant to be a personal attack. I was just posting who i thought were the favorites and going from there. Bmoser is right. All teams have a chance depending on how pool play shakes out and who knocks off who in the early round. My original post of not having a chance was mainly just looking at the field of teams and who has the pitching depth it will take to get through such a tough field. You guys have a good bunch and I wish you a strong showing this weekend. |

I see 6 teams going 2-0. Most of the pools have the two toughest teams not playing each other, except for Titans VS Cougars POOL. Both of those could be 2-0 if that were the case, but one will go 1-1 probably. I see Bay Bombers winning this with 643 Cougars either losing a close game to them in the Semi's or finals. I see Team GA beating the Titans in the other side of bracket but if Bay Bombers and Cougars are on opposite sides I see that as the finals. I wouldn't ever bet money on a baseball game. |

It is rather odd how in 3 pools the tough teams avoid each other and 1 pool they meet. Maybe Tony is mad at them or he's trying to get everyone to the park early. All or none would work best but we don't make the rules, we just play the games. |

Anyone know anything about JC Mullins Park in Canton? Our two pool games are there on Saturday morning and I have never heard of this park or played there. Looking for quality of field, approximate dimensions, etc. Just curious. |

11baseball11. not sure of your issue here? On paper there are 6 (so called)elites so 2 of the pools are going to have 2 of the (so called) elites. That being said, at the end of the tournament our perceptions of who the "elites" are may drastically change. I think the pools are pretty balanced and should provide for a great tournament. Come April we'll have actual and current trends to better comment on pool weighting. For now I'm just excited about playing and seeing the sun shine on these great kids. |

Bulldog(Star)No big issue here, but I count 7 (elite) teams and only 2 play each other. The pools are divided evenly but the match-ups are not. On one hand I like the challenge, but on the other hand I think if you're going to match-up 2 strong teams in one, do it in all, like Jackets v Jags or Team GA v Holly Springs. They are in the same pools and I think most people agree they will go 2-0 instead of making them play each other and letting run diff. settle it. I bet if you ask the teams that have to play them, they're wishing they had to face only one of them for the same reason, run diff.. Call me on it mon. if I'm wrong, but the loser of cougars v titans will have to play one extra game as a direct result of that match-up not run diff. and some team that had 2 elite teams will lose a shot at the top bracket by going 0-2. Just want to compare apples to apples from top to bottom. For the folks that want to throw the whinning bomb, show me another game of that caliber. Even you Bulldog picked that game as the best. What would the second best game be on Sat.???
I look forward to the game myself, should be a great match-up, just wish every team took the same road for the reasons I stated. We will only get better from the challenge. OK, everyone can pile on now!!!

The elite teams will be the teams playing on Sunday in the Gold Bracket regardless of pool play. |

Th Jc Mullins park is actually in Holly Springs. The field is around 275ft with sod infield. The backstop is not very deep and we do announce players names during the game as well as music in between innings. The kids love the environment. The field is manicured perfectly and I would challenge anyone to find a better quality playing surface in the area. I am sure it's in better shape than East Cobb at this point. For a picture of our field you can go to Expressteaminfo.com . I hope everyone who plays at our field enjoys the park espcially the folks from Kentucky. As far as home field advantage I don't consider working and prepping the field for 3 games instead of preparing your team for play much of an advantage. Maybe we'll draw our usual 1000 fans and can use that for a real home field advantage. Just kidding!

Brad, if you guys have lights, will you see if we can set up a scrimmage one Wed night at your place? I've heard great things about your field. I know our team would love the chance to play you guys there. |

Thanks for the email. Unfortunately we don't have lights at this time. Let me know your schedule and if you have an off weekend we could set up a DoubleHeader at our park. If not we can wait till the time changes and do something during the week. The larger field will probably help you guys prepare for the 12U play. We are also hosting a tournament in mid May let me know if you guys are interested. Good luck this season. Bradley

JC Mullins field has the best infield around, to me its better than ECB and ATTP, I think one of the parents that help keeps it up is a golf course superindent, the grass in outfield looks great, the field has the old type dugouts that are enclosed, other than not having lights ,this is one of the best parks in ga. BTW , they have added some batting cages and concession stand is run by parents and is great, and restrooms are very clean and maintained. These are some great folks over at HS ,and I dont think anyone will have any complaints. |
