Is there any logic in putting pool brackets together or do they just put them in a bag and pull them out? Can the host field have some say in who they play? Some just have it tough from the start.

I never gave it much thought. Just played who they put in front of us. One year it was the Astros and the second best ECB team in that age group. We upset the Astros and lost to the other team. Then won a game in the upper bracket so we made it to the quarters in a really strong field. One of the highlights of the season and I was upset when I first saw the schedule. We were a mid- to upper AAA team. I never worried about it after that.

But yes, some teams get lots of love from TD's. Probably because they ask for specific game times, probably because they are the host.
It really wasn't/isn't worth giving it much thought.
