USSSA constantly assesses teams throughout the season. I noticed that there were a few reclasses done after this past w/e. But it is rare before the SNIT. Before the start of each spring season they put out a season starting classification list, based on the last years records. This is done and put out first of January each year. It is the required starting classification for teams returning with most of their players, 6 or more returning. A team can ask to be moved up at anytime, but has to play at least 6 in class games to appeal to be moved down in class, per their rules.
Hope this helps some... Their reclassification for this year can be seen on their website.
Teams are already being moved...if they have seen them....teams they haven't seen have to suffer through 6 drubbings before they can get moved....not sure this is fair?....seems like the rule should be 6 games for everyone or not have the rule...

Dumber still...teams who went undefeated or with just one loss this past fall being dropped down based on what they did in fall 2010...seriously. Reclass done in January didn't factor any games from fall 2011. They purely look at each SEASON...2011 vs 2012.
Going forward?? Yeah, it's based on those so called drubbings.
I know of at least one team who has boycotted USSSA tourneys going forward because of this kind of junk. It's still just a matter of time before they get moved back where they belong, but it will be too late.
If you want to get moved up call head guy for USSSA and complain, Get him mad enough at you to move you up to Major. I know for a fact it happened to a friends team and they competed well all season in Major.
