It would be very nice to see something like this built on our side of town. One of the big wigs on the planning council and a member of the parks and rec has been squashing these kinds of efforts for years. It has been impossible to get permits for a facility like this in Gwinnett county because of this. I hope someone finally breaks through. It won't be in time for my kids but maybe there is hope for other Gwinnett county ball players in the future.

Most Gwinnett Parks are busting out at the seams. There are mini traffic jams each evening on the roads inside some of these parks that Captain Herb needs to start including in his traffic reports.

Maybe they should go to off-site parking and shuttle buses. Any relief would be welcomed.

I'm excited about the discussions. If commercial business is as bad as reported, I think this would be a definite boost to Lilburn's local economy. But unless they have lot's of available unzoned space to add hotels, restaurants, etc...the biggest winners may be better established suburbs neighboring Lilburn. This is where people would be spending their dollars as it relates to out of town baseball and soccer guests. The McDonalds and Chick-Fil-A in Lilburn would have great weekend revenues though!
