"State" Champs or "State" tournaments means nothing anymore. It has become so diluted with ALL the State tournaments and "WORLD SERIES" tournaments, heck one GA association already had a "WORLD SERIES" in which about 6-7 average teams battled for who was best, nothing wrong with that and most of the kids dont really unserstand it however it dilutes and lessons the importance and significance of the REAL State Championship or REAL world series.
You can go a 10-15 Georgia team websites and they all claim to be some type of "State Champ" or World Series Champ, when in reality, it was against an extremely small pool of teams with probably not 15+ teams that would run rule the "champion" 10 out of 10 times.
But in the end, its for the kids right, thats what we're all in this for, right? The KIDS, not yourself and how many games you win, how many arms you sacrifice by over pitching and throwing breaking balls at 10 years old! I get so tired of seeing coaches throw 10 year olds 80, 90 pitches not to mention the handful of coaches out there at 10yo that allow their kids to throw breaking balls. but when its all said and done, the coaches and parents ego's win out over the kids, sad, sad! |

Who should have won aaa state champ??? The titans had the best record. Sig Park next, where were they??? added 2 to the titan line-up, did that make or break the team??? I'll tell you it is a SLAP in the face to all trip aaa team that have battled the titans who won or loss to say anything otherwise, they deserve to win! They are solid!
Maybe, aa,aaa and major need to rethink??? Some in aaa need to be aa and aaa, major,
that will take care of its self. Every team has a starting place at the beginning of the season to find out where they belong!These are kids, they play in the cold, rain and heat for our enjoyment!!! They are all champs!!! U grown ups go play against each other to figure out a title. By the way, who does not want to win??? I know I do!!! |
