Doc, I could probably say it but I would have to ask my wife what it means. I can't wait to see all of you again and just wish that we were all a little closer to each other distance wise so we could play more games. The interest the few games that these teams have played has been off the charts and I could just imagine what kind of rivalary would develop if we all played each other more. Good Luck this weekend and don't you dare let any of them Longhorns fix your hot dog as they might spit in the mustard before they give it to you. Ha Ha, I put Ha Ha to let you all know that I am just kidding.

The #1 ranking in the middle of this season gave our Longhorns a great boost of confidence, and gave our kids and coaches the real recognition that they deserved for all the hard work that they have done to get us where we are today as a team. But I do believe that the only ranking that matters will be the final ranking after The Elite 32 in Disney has played out, and the final championship game is over. Then the last team standing will have earned the ranking of #1 team in the country for 2010. The ride is what's fun, and Bfox6 is on his way down soon to rejoin The Longhorns in their quest for another championship. He is looking forward to getting back into the race with his Longhorn teammates, and being with his Longhorn family again. The most important thing we all must remember, is that we do what we do so the kids can play...Now, can we finally eat?

Baseball Doc, looking forward to buying you that hotdog this weekend. Heck, we might find time to take in a movie together this weekend. Do you like butter on your popcorn?? Ha, Ha!! Best of luck to MBA playing in the 12's this weekend.

OK - Longhornfan and Panni (and any other poster associated with Lynn Haven] - let's do this. Since the 11u and 12u play on fields that are contiguous, we can watch each other's games and then enjoy some hamburgers and hot dogs.

I think what would be more fun is getting together and grilling some hot dogs and hamburgers and watch all the kids from both teams play wiffle ball. Could you imagine how many hot dogs and hamburgers all these kids would put away? Probably enough to pay both of our entry fees to the tournament itself!

stan lewis is right about one thing and that is that people from across the nation visit and read this site. At the recent Battle of the South attended by 7-8 states and won by the 11U Bandits Papa must have had at least 10-15 people from out of state that looked me up and told me how much they enjoy this forum. The thing in my mind that separates this site from the others is that the moderator will allow us to debate but not to degrade, allow us to compliment but not to condemn and sometimes even to fuss but never to cuss. Thank you stan for the things you didn't allow me to say.

You Florida folks are the real hoot. Three posts ago you was ready to choke each out and now you are having a picnic together. That is just the game of baseball bringing the masses closer together. God Bless America, God Bless Baseball, and to show you that Papa's heart is in the right place God can even bless the great state of Florida where the passion for baseball is unequaled. If the Bandits cannot find a way to pull out the championship then Papa hopes it goes to our friends in Florida but I am not saying which set of friends as we have many including the Bay Bombers, MBA Pride, and now the Lynn Haven Longhorns.

I'm not sure if I'll be that hungry! Our team, in pool play, will be dealing with one of the top 12u teams in the country for the 3rd time in three weeks. We fared well against them at the tournament in Tampa. After leading 8-4 in the 6th inning, we ended up losing 9-8 in extra-innings. The Beyel Brothers have some of the biggest 12-year olds in Florida. In addition, they usually "import" three kids from Puerto Rico for their week-end tournaments. In contrast, our team will be playing short-handed. Like in Atlanta's Super NIT, we will be missing one of our top pitchers [and lead-off hitter] as well as our starting catcher and #2 batter. Basically, we will have only 9 players. Sometimes having 9 players is an advantage, however, not when you're missing two key pieces of the puzzle. We'll try our best and hopefully I'll be hungry enough to share a hamburger or a hotdog with our counterparts from the panhandle. After all, we're playing in the 12u division by choice with the aim of facing bigger kids and higher quality pitching.

Since our two teams played in separate parks and in diffferent divisions, we never got to have our picnic in Lake City. We'll have to wait until we get to Disney in August. Bring your credit card and lots of cash - hotdogs and hamburgers are very expensive there!
