Yes, so sorry the web site went down this weekend. Here's how things went down: Final four was Ga Jackets Gold, 643 Cougars, ECB Astros, and Alpharetta A's.
643 Cougars beat our Jackets Gold in a hard fought semi-final. The Alpha A's jumped out to an 8-0 lead over the ECB Astros. But the Astros did not quit, chipped away..then you could feel the momentum swing. It was classic, walk off 2-run HR from the big guy to win it in the bottom of the 6th.
ECB Astros took that momentum right into the finals and avenged a Fridy night pool play loss to the Cougars as the big guy pitched a shut out 8-0 Astros championship.

Morgamania; the Astros were down to the A's 8-0? Have the A's improved or were the Astros looking past them? |

What was the final score? Why do we have to ask a question like that about 11u kids.
Great job A's and congrats Astros.
I think the Astros won the tourney, correct? |

Jacket Field is a single field on someone's personal property. The field itself is as nice as you will find. I think the fence is around 220'. It appears to be reel cut like a golf course would be. There is a batting cage close by that is very nice too. Very cool place to play. |

Wow! Sounds like a "field of dreams". Wonder if my wife will let me level the house and build a field? Heck i'm at the field more than home anyway |

Now that you mention it, I didn't see a house anywhere near the field. Maybe that's what they did !!!
Seriously, the head coach for the Jackets Gold has been there every time I have. I'm not sure if it's his place or not, but he has been a very gracious host. |

Hi. That final score in that semi final was 9-8 Astros. It was just a great baseball game with one team with the momentum early and the other with the momentum late. You just didn't know if the A's would be able to hold on and get out of it with the victory or if the Astros would complete the comeback. I just love a walk off HR to win the game. It's magic.
The Astros then used that mojo to beat the 643 Cougars 8-0 for the championship.
The A's are returning much of their roster from last year with a few key additions. They're a good team not to be taken lightly. The only question may be pitching depth. I'm sure they'll be an even better team as the spring progresses.
Thanks to everyone who came out to Jacket field. Indeed it is kind of a field of dreams setting. Very scenic with the lake below and behind home plate and a backdrop of trees and grass around the outfield. Indoor batting and pitching facilities, etc. Coach Hill has done a wonderful job with it. The way it is laid out the place is amazingly almost always playable no matter how much it rains! 200 ft down the lines, 215 in the alleys and 225 to dead center with plenty of room to move those fences back in the coming years. |
