Frydaddy what did you think about the Choo Choo Classic tournament?
I thought the park was terrific - great use by the city of a landfill area. Umpires - not very good but not awful. We came out as flat as we ever have been and it showed. You guys have a very nice team with some good hitting - too bad for us we decided to give you guys an extra 3 outs in the 3rd. You guys did exactly what you were supposed to do in those situations and came down hard. As far as our team goes, we are using this past weekend as a motivator for better things to come. We came down to play good teams outside our home area and that's what we did. Played HSE, the Rookies, Stingrays, and Lightning and came away happy to have played even though our record didn't show it. Not bad to play the top 3 teams in the tourney though. Congratulations to all and we hope to see you again soon when we get some outdoor time in (same as everybody). BTW, The Rookies are a good team but again our rustiness with the bats and gloves really showed when we played. They are a well disciplined LL team and will do well.
Frydaddy you guys have a great team. Your starting pither can really bring some heat not to mention hit it a mile. That was my son pitching and it was his first homer ever allowed. I was afraid it would rattle him but he took it in stride. I look forward to playing again soon.
It was a good weekend for baseball! I got a chance to see a great championship between HS Express and the Rookies out of Cartersville!! Both teams can bring it during crunch time...but the Express is a very good baseball team with discipline hitters and a couple of good pitchers...exciting to watch these two teams go head to head!!!! Congrats to all involved!!!!!
I agree that HS Express is a very good team and they don't get rattled when under the gun. We had a very exciting game with them in the semi's and they kept their cool and were able to come back from 1 down to beat us in the bottom of the 6th. Even though we kept the pressure on them from the first pitch they never faultered and kept with their game plan. Congrats HS Express on a great game.
