We were expecting to play this team somewhere along the way at the Super NIT. Does anyone know why they are not enrolled in this tournament, held in their very own back yard?

Because they are playing in one in their own kitchen at East Cobb. |

They didn't play in SNIT last year either. I certainly can't speak for them but they probably don't like dealing with the traffic, lousy fields, gate fees, etc. The fact that there's 22 teams entered in the 11u division at the March Mayhem this weekend and the 11u 643 Cougars are playing in the 12u division at same speaks volumes about how many GA teams are shunning the SNIT |

For that matter even the 2 Chili Dogs teams that live far closer to the NIT are playing in the TC tournament. Unless you goal is to play at disney than the snit is not worth the downside that has been mentioned time and again. |

Why not take advantage of the opportunity of playing some of the top 11u teams in the country? Instead they preferred to register in the 12u division at the Triple Crown because they wouldn't get much competition from the 11u teams. The Super NIT appears to have better teams [at both the 11u and 12u] and the competition should be greater. The fact that they are not interested in playing in the Elite-32 at Disney is not necessarily a good reason: MBA has already earned a berth to the Elite-32, however, they still registered to play against the Bandits and 643-DP. Maybe many of those twenty-two 11u teams shunned the Super NIT because the Bandits, Team Georgia, Bay Bombers, and MBA were all scheduled to participate. That may have a lot more to do with it than traffic jams, lousy fields, and gate fees.

I understand all of the downside mentioned. But how can you turn down the opportunity to play all of the out of state teams? There will be 100's more tournaments just like the TC one. |

bturner, some of us are not as excited as others about eleven year old baseball. There are actually some of us out here that played in high school and college and we realize that this is a marathon. The few of us that have actually walked this walk understand that this is about fun now and that most of these kids that we are calling studs now, will not be the studs down the road.
My son does not care if you are from texas or florida, he just wants to play baseball because it is fun to him.
For my son, the ultimate goal is he wants to play at the other levels. So we are approaching his development with that in mind. It is not about winning a super nit tournament or playing teams from other states.
Remember this post I am in my forties and the guy that made it to the majors in my group was not the stud at 9,10,11 or 12, he was the stud at 17. So calm down and enjoy your kid 11u baseball season, it really is not that serious.

Home park, professional tourney director, three tourney discount that worked in our schedule. BTW played the Bombers a few weeks ago, great team. Went to Dalton last weekend could not play (story for another thread). The Bandits were one of the reasons we were going to that venue. Oh justin ditto's here. |

Good Grief !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I hear one more person say "youth baseball doesn't matter it's different when you hit the big field - these studs at 10 and 11 are going to be nothing later" I'm going to explode !!!!!!!! We are all trying to enjoy and discuss what is going on right now and you guys keep dropping negative bombs on us. I don't hear anyone saying that their kid is going to be the next Chipper Jones, they are just enjoying what is going on right now. How can you NOT be excited to watch your kid play a sport that he loves. And if he's good at it, it's even more fun.
Oh crap, I think my head just exploded ... |

Justin Case I am sure your bio as a high school and college player are GREAT. I am sure you know how to develop a player better than me. I dont know who your kid enjoys playing more than anyone else. The questions was about 643. The same 643 team that went to Cooperstown at 10. They must take it pretty serious.
In one statement you said he just plays beaseball because it is fun to him he does not care if teams are from Florida or Texas. The next statement you talked about his ultimate goal is to play at the next level. These to seem to contradict each other. I would love to hear your explanation.
You brought up the next level. If my son plays at the next level fine. If he does'nt that is fine. I dont have an ultimate goal for my son. I just want him to enjoy baseball and meet alot of great kids along the way. My best friend today is a guy that I played with as a kid and in High School. quote: Originally posted by justin case

Lets dont let our egos get in the way . I hope some of these folks on here isnt setting their kids or grandkids up for failure down the road, these kids may be the STUd now, but one day the all will run into a wall, and dad or papa may not be there to wipe there tail then, lets quit worrying why someone isnt coming to play in super nit because MBA Pride is there, why dont MBA Pride come play Triple Crown better facilities and more teams, |
