| I was watching 60 minutes the other day. They were covering youth pageants where very young children were dressed and made up to ridiculous levels - the focus of the show was more about the fanatical moms who were mostly not attractive in their youth and were living a vicarious fantasy through their kids. very entertaining show. Troubling and hilarious as various Moms bragged nonsensically about their perfect angel crafted from the finest fleetwood. Thank God there is nothing like that in youth baseball. |

| 10bb , I hate that we interrupted your thread on here ,we didnt know that it was just for you and Papa, but I feel like you should have called it something else,Like, NO ONE RESPONDS EXCEPT PAPA.WE are very proud of your BOMBERS and would have loved seeing you guys in Cooperstown last year since all the other Elite teams was there,I guess their was a bigger tourney somewhere else, It would have been great to see the nations best catcher up there . I think the Bandits have probably the best catching duo without any help from florida. Good Luck and always remember IT aint bragging unless you can back it up.Dizzy Dean |

| This is crazy, we have not started the season and someone is awarding teams for what they did in the fall and 2009. And for team GA they were a fall team, most teams put very little work in the fall and you can not base anything on fall results. This is crazy. I am willing to bet you come memorial day, there will be other teams better than some in this so called elite tournament. So you know what that means, this will be just another tournament. Again you can not give this type of elite status until games are won on the fields and that goes for the bandits, bombers or whomever. I am thinking this thing is going to backfire big time. Wow giving out credit before it is earned, this really blows me away. I will say for sure there will be targets on these so called elite teams backs. |

| bobo; thanks for calling my son the best catcher in the nation because I for one think he is "one of the best catchers in the nation". To be truthful I think he is "one of the best " pitchers in the nation. I also think he is "one of the best" looking kids in the nation and "one of the best" bike riders in the nation. He is NOT "one of the best" students in the nation though. |

You guys complain about the TD's just care about the money then when a tournament is being put on to represent the top teams and that it is about giving back, here comes the complaints again.

| All this chest thumpin is letting us know that we've all been away from the park too long. Surely there will be a spot or two open if you can make a statement early. Come out and beat one of those teams if you think you belong there. If you can't then you just saved your team a 3 and out weekend. When you have arrived at the ELITE level, you'll know because you won't have to ask if you're there yet. Nobody knows what some of these new teams will do,it's all just a bunch of hope. By the end of March we'll know who's for real, so get to work coaches. May the best team win!!! |

Wow, I thought all the 11u teams were elite  . Hope to see some of you guys in HS ball. Nice to know there is one person out there who has the knowledge to decide who the "elite" teams are at 11 years old. This sounds like some of the "chest thumping" bmoser was talking about in his Hindsight is 20/20 thread.
10BB, I would suggest that you PM papa if you want to keep things between the two of you. You can't expect to post a topic on a public message board and have it remain private. You can't expect people not to comment, especially when you are separating their kids and teams as NOT "elite" like your son and team. If you ask me, you opened yourself up for criticism when you opened this can of worms up in a public forum. |

| I want to Thank you for the invite, Without the the early invitation there would be zero chance to make it, but now Our coach maybe can work it in...... if we're considered the Elite or not, We are always looking to play the best competition available, by doing that we only make ourselves better (isnt that point of little league baseball?) I like it, the elite 12 and you don't have to qualify, and you don't have to even play a game in 2010.
I think that it is cool for someone to set up a tournament to play baseball. But, most tournaments that use the elite status usually lay out a method to get there. The tournament's credibility is diminished because there is not an empirical process for selection. Even more absurd is to give invites to an event 6 months away, I guess based on some kind of crystal ball process. I would have to say I look forward to observing the evolution of this future elite tournament. Please share with us this tournament director that can see in the future. Papa and 10BB, I think you guys are just trying to get some excitement on this board. HAHAHA
Now at least we got something to talk about for 6 months.

I did a little homework because I thought maybe I had misjudged all the great teams in Ga. I went to the USSSA classification site and found some very good facts. It seems that there are 57AA, 15AAA and 4 major teams in the State of Ga. Two of the four are in the Tournament the Bandits for one and Sandtown Redsox the other.So Im guessing that all the complaints on this thread are from the other two teams which are the Georgia Jackets Gold and PrimeTime. Unless you are not on these two teams what is all the complaints about.
Before anyone say it yes Team Georgia is registered as AAA but they have committed to being moved to Major so no argument there. |

| Well I looked at the Oklahoma Rays Usssa ,looks like they are a legit team in spring, but This fall the 2 tourneys they played in was ,the first tourney only had 2 teams in it, and the fall state they played in only had 3 in it,and there is only 2 major teams in oklahoma |

This discussion got over the top and I did a wholesale purge of some unmoderated posts. I let some things slip through that shouldn't have been posted, then some of the posts became personal attacks. Some posts that were probably okay were included in the purge. Please repost those and I will moderate them.

Hi Moser.
I don't think the backlash is mainly about who is invited. I for one don't think my team is an elite team. I wouldn't have expected to be invited to this event; however, would love to experience the competition.I think we are a very good local team who can compete with the big boys occasionally but not consistent enough to be considered anything other than that. So no hard feelings here. The reason most people responded the way they did is they are tired of hearing people repeatedly promote and bragg about their kids and teams in a public forum. Whatever happened to letting them just play and let other people watch and make their own assesments. That's what I do with my own son and our team. When the kid from the Bandits hit 3 home runs against us you didn't see his dad on here bragging about it. He let other people who saw it make their own comments. In the end several people mentioned what an achievement it was and the kid got his due. For anyone to think they know who the top players in the nation are at 11 yr. old is crazy. There are thousands and thousands of kids playing some for weak teams that don't get noticed.
