They come down every year to play in it. I think it is their last tournament of the year before moving on to other sports, like shoveling snow. |

boy.....we are just excited to be able to finally get to take the field Looking forward to this coming weekend and glad to see the weather will hopefully cooperate! Seems like it has been so long - I may have to use the navigation system to remember where the park is. Our scrimmage games, practices, etc have all seemed to give way to weather this fall. Bring on Mr. Sun!!!!
Long Island (as far as why they are in a GA tourney)- I think just choosing to get some warmer weather fall work in. A carolina team in as well. |

Titans(not ECB) will sneak up on you Titans (ECB) have a lot of questions about who will be on the team and who will coach it.

Now teddy, you know no one is going to stop inquiring about the EC Titans because, like it or not, there are a lot of questions around the team right now and it's part of being in a high profile program. You have to take the bad with the good. If the Stallions had 22 players on their roster and were trying to trim down to 15 or 16, still at this point of the season, they would get the same flack. Just sayin..... |

weather forecast for Friday and Saturday is rapidly declining. ECB will close the fields for the weekend if we get significant rain. Doesn't look good |

Still think they should partner up and have alternate back up fields - certainly it could be done |

other than some delays fields in the area should be playable if they want to make them that way. They will probably offer the new york team a rain check and back charge them for not staying in an approved hotel |

I wonder if the NY team will still be stuck with airfares. Certainly not a cheap weekend |

crackedbats, Typically if a tournament is cancelled, and a team comes that far, help is usually provided to get them some games while they are down here. Hopefully all will work out and they can get games in. |

I'm a little surprised too.
I see the Titans beat Combat in the finals. TG and 3 ECB teams in the final 4. All of the Final 4 teams have been very active in the Fall. Given the fluidity of the rosters and who is available on a given weekend/day, I wouldn't know what to make of it. Maybe some eyewitnesses can sum it up for us.
Looks like the out of state teams took their lumps.

Me too. Did everyone sleep in?
Actually, with all the rain, football, and injuries all you can get out of the fall are players getting work and teams hopefully working on a few things they won't be able to in spring/summer. 10% of the teams are playing at full capacity anyway.

Some of us just got home from the tournament. Titans won final 7-5 over Combat and played fundamentally solid baseball; small ball, good situational hitting, and their starting pitcher pitched really well late into both the game and night. Combat beat Team Gwinnett 4-1 in a well played semi's game. Both teams played good defense, pitched well and showed great promise for the Spring. As we were at American Legion Field all day we did not get to see the Mount Bethel games, but the Titans must have played well all day to win 4 games (three ECB teams) and win the tournament as the #9 seed. Congrats to Glenn and his players on a great day!
As to the tag line of this topic - does this make the Titans the #2 team behind the Astos??? Aside from Astros, only the Longhorns, Warriors and Cobras were not entered in this event (at least the teams of which I am aware).
See you all in the Spring. Now its time to watch the Hawks, Thrashers and Falcons - and GT beat UGA again. |

The Titans won the tournament after beating the Combat in the championship game and the Chargers in the semis |

Update - I sure hope that the Titans or the Braves get better. They looked average, maybe 3rd tier Major, both going 2-2. I have to believe at this point that the Stallions or Combat would be the 2nd tier behind the Astros at East Cobb.
Congrats to Team Gwinnett.
I know this is getting old, but the Titans will come around. They could've beaten Team Gwinnett in pool play had they made the plays. This comes not being together, (ECB fields have been closed) and the pitchers and cathers haven't really worked with each other extensively,
told you so |
