Braves are the favorites but I do think the Thrashers, Select Red and Astros will be tough on Sunday. Sunday's gold bracket should be loaded |

This is a very talented group of teams and the matchups will be key. Hopefully they will be posted soon . Triple Crown will have their work cut out for them this tourney . There are some surprise teams , much improved teams and out of state teams that will lead to head to head matchups on Saturday of top teams. There will be some good major teams that do not make the Gold bracket. This will be our first 12 under tourney of the new year because we have been forced to stay a little close to home so far and play 13u. |

Moccs, you guys should be primed and ready for the title, playing 13's all these weeks should make 12u pitching look like BP. Is your Spring Break over or any middle school ball going on that you'll be missing players, seems you always are missing "certain" players . It'll be nice to finally see a well oiled fully staffed Moccs make their 1st 12u appearence of the year making a shot at the Gold Title. |

Moccs should have all of their players from the current roster. However we did lose two players from last year . One to the Stealth and one to the EC Astros. We are excited about playing 12 under for a change although going to take a little adjustment moving back to 50 / 70 .

Yeah a quick look shows Moccs and Elite Gamers may be the only 2 teams out of 38 that play two major teams in pool play. Thought we may get lucky and play EC Longhorns and EC Braves on Saturday :-] Maybe we can go 1-1 and still make the gold. Oh well , we will play the hand that has been dealt. Triple Crown always puts on a good tourney and usually the top teams end up where they should. However, even if we drop to Silver the competition will be strong ..Play Ball !!!! |

must of been a real quick look you did moccs, there are several teams that play 2 major level/type teams, I stopped counting after 3 beyond the two you mentioned, Patriot, Sportsarama, Select, and Im sure there are more. And I wasnt mentioning players not coming from "last" years team, all teams lost/gained players from "last" year, im talking about you coming with your full squad this weekend, ready to go and win the whole thing. |

It was a quick look but actually I was referring to other major teams playing against major teams only during pool. A second look still appears that only two are in that category . Although I put Elite Gamers when it was supposed to be Georgia Select Red. No disrespect to other teams and only using the usssa classifications as far as determining who is considered a major team. The Moccs are bringing a full squad this time thanks to a few of our Little Leaguers skipping their games. So there will be no excuses if we don't do well. The only reason we shouldn't when each game is if we let the other team out score us !! |

Well with the schedule that the Astros got in pool matchup what would you expect. It looks like unless another team throws two shut outs that they will be number one seed. Of course, they will play the number 16th seed and conserve pitching until the finals !!! Thats the problem with the way pool matchups are determined. (outscored opponents 22-1)

The Astros may be a #1 seed which may help them in the first game or so of bracket play but not beyond. I only say that based on the two big Triple Crown tournaments this year. In the Slugfest: #12 Hobgood beat #2 Braves and then the Spring Break tourney went to the 5 or 6 Sandy Plains beating the #7 Smash. Sometimes playing easy pool play games can be detrimental for preparation and sometimes not when the team is superior in talent. |

I understand your point, but you still have to play the game and at some point we have to give credit where credit is due. To win two games the way they did, you have to play some good baseball. The teams they beat are no slouches. I am not posting this to your singular reference bb4life, but I see post like this for the Braves, Astros, Rays, Stealth, etc and it is a discredit to those teams and more so to the teams they are playing. With the caliber of teams in this tournament, a 16 seed in the gold will be a solid team, so conserving pitching could get you beat. As with many other teams, bracket play is about advancing and as talented as that Astro bunch is, they are going to go for the win and not just hope to skate by and limp into the finals. |

The Astros are for real. They beat us in every facet of the game, hitting, pitching, defense, coaching, team speed, you name it. I wish we had competed better than we did, but that's 12u baseball. How we can go toe-to-toe for 7 innings with a 13u major team, then play the way we did Thursday night is a head scratcher. We'll keep working and get our mojo back, but it should not distract anyone from the fact that the Astros have everything you need to be a real player in this age group. |

Another tournamnent where some teams haven't faced any compitition yet. What I want to know is at this age, have someof the outcomes of the Mt. Bethal field had to do with the short, close fence. |

looks like the stros are having a great tournament run, two back to back shut outs and another date with the Braves looms large this afternoon. As most have predicted, they are getting better as the season goes on and that my friends is a sign if a well coached team. Do they have enough to win it all???? |

Mt. Bethel on Lower roswell road?? That is a 13-14 field...It is not short. Go play at Sandy Plains or any othe 200' field. Ah the days of people driving down Lower Roswell rd screaming profanity at certain coaches...The 80's were fun!

Gold bracket was loaded, had a few upsets and some great games. Mt. Bethel is a good sized field, bigger then east cobb fields 7 & 8 and those were used in some bracket games.
looks like the stros are gelling like magellan, lost a close one to the braves in the ship. They are on track to be the top dog by next month as the coaches now have the machine well oiled. |

Mt Bethel is 250ish down the lines and 300' center field. The outfield is huge for 12's. Waist high fences or not, at 12 you hit one out there it is a bomb!! |
