I know one thing whoever wins the AAA will have to be
stacked with pitching depth. Its at least 5 games in
bracket play to get to the ship.......

Anyone got any extra arms we can borrow....

The way this season has gone so far no way to pick final 4 (AAA). However, I will give the pool winners a shot. A-Macon Cardinals....B-Diamond Bears....C-Legends Baseball....D-East Cobb Phillies....E-Fayette Force....F-(dont know why) Little Ceasers....G-Carroll County Lions....H-Covington Sting....I-Decatur Vipers
What the heck final 4.....Legends versus Carroll County Lions/////////EC Phillies versus Orange Crush.
How fun will this weekend. Glad to see where giving the AAA some love on the sight!
Good Luck Everyone! Three words Pitching, Pitching, Pitching!

Don't under estimate the Kennesaw Generals. They played the Orange Crush twice this past weekend and blanked them in both games. Both teams had good pitching and depth. Generals and the Phillies in championship.

Depends on age group but in 12u USSSA a player can pitch 3innings in 1 day and be allowed to pitch the next. A player can only pitch 6 innings in 1 day and 8 innings in a 3 day stretch. It gets tricky in 4 and 5 day world series play. You can't pitch more than 3 days straight regardless of number innings.

You have to give a shout out to the ECB Spartans and Midway. Both of these teams are very solid and can play with anybody. Really interested in seeing how the Midway vs. Cards and the Spartans vs. Diamond Bears games go. I have not seen the Decatur Vipers since the Fall, but they looked strong too. The bottom line is, I think we will see a lot of parity this year. There will be a few "upsets" this weekend. Emphesis on the ""! Should be a fun season.

I appreciate the nods that the Force is getting for Pool E against from terrific competition....but I would caution you because we just have not been playing very good baseball so far this Spring. We are 1-4 and really didn't deserve to win the 1. Don't get me wrong, we are not discouraged and I truly believe we will get it together soon but so far this Spring we have not hit the ball well, caught the ball well, thrown the ball well, or run bases very well. Everything else I think we are doing just fine ;)

If we continue to play this poorly next weekend my boys will run enough sprints and do enough push ups that we may change our name to Fayette Force Track & Field Team. ;)

Good Luck to everyone this weekend!!!

Who do you guys think will be the unexpected team in AAA and AA that rises up from the unknowns and has the best shot to hoist the trophy in the end?

Maybe I shouldn't say "unknowns" but rather say of those who are not favored to win their pool. I think there is some pretty good teams who are not favored in their pool because of matchups and the effect it will have on tie breakers and such.

I don't think the word "unknowns" was the wrong term. I believe there will be a sleeper make it to final four and if the team plays good they can make it into the finals. There is several teams in this tourney that was AA last year that will be tough to beat. Just my opinion here, but the team that can handle the 68-70 MPH pitching late into Sunday will win this. The problem is getting late into Sunday with that arm still available. 5 possible games Sunday could equal 30 innings. That is running thru some pitching in a hurry! WOW.

Great call out bigmcbb! I know several of the Spartans and the coach and they are poised to make a run. We ran into Midway last weekend and they are a solid hitting team and well coached. If they can limit the walks, I see them going deep and turning some heads. They have a few kids in the line up that will go deep if you hang it. The AAA field is very solid, but the Spartans and Midway are teams I could see being in the Elite 8! (yes, I am watching the NCAA tournament right now)!

I also agree...The Spartans have been playing some really good ball. They have already beat some major teams this year and have a very good coaching staff. I think they can make a run to the ship!

looking back at all the predictions, nobody had the team from MI and EC Titans making a run but both did. Not sure why they are AAA cause that MI team has several kids who have been on major squads and looking at the scores you can tell.

Thing is, may of the teams people were picking can beat you in a single game or two but they don't have the depth pitching wise to make a 4 game run in a tourament like this one.

I normally don't complain about any tournament but I can honestly say that playing on a 200ft field is rediculous at a AAA level. Normal pop ups were homeruns. The field was nice at the private school facility and it was cool to play there but during the first round bracket play thats where we went. The team we played got 6 hits, 5 homeruns. Only one was what I consider to be a true homerun, the rest where pop ups. I know guy's we were playing on same field right? Our team is more line drive gap hitters. The field was the outcome of the game. Pop ups 200 ft should be routine outs at this level. Congrats to Michigan team. They came, they seen, they won, they had a longer trip home. Good for them.

ecbpappi you are correct. Its very hard to make a run
in a big snit with a 12 person roster. We found this
out this weekend. After playing our first bracket game on
Sat. night then making it to play three games on Sun
our boys were toast.
The Titans made a good run. Very well coached
group of boys. But i think after our game with
them they ran out of gas to.
Lesson learned for next year. Bring as many
PO as you can get.

IMO if you have a 12 player roster then you should have plenty of pitching. Are you saying that you should have stacked your team with extra players??? Seen plenty of teams make a run with as few as 11 players. Some teams play with 10 kids.

Also don't see the need for PO at 12u or 13U for that matter.

One interesting note was that one organization that brought teams to play in both the AAA and Major division had two boys listed on both of their 2012 12uAAA and 12uMajor rosters? Not saying that they played for both, just curious if it is legal to do so? If the 12uMajor team did not make their brackets, would it be possible the kids were roster listed as available in any of the 12uMajor Saturday games prior and then roster listed for the 12uAAA bracket games on Sunday? This would be like a high school Varsity and JV roster where some of the JV players played for both JV and Varsity? I guess the only way you would know would be to compare the books kept by the teams who played the Major pool games and the AAA bracket games? Just a question of whether they could do so if they wanted to?

In AAA I was only 4 for 9 in my pool play #1 seed picks. Not to good. I also had NG Bulldogs winning the AAA SNIT prior to the tournament but I must admitt, I didn't do my homework on the team from MI.

Picks were a little better for AA pool bracket winners getting 4 of 5 right. I had HP Chilidogs Sanchez winning it all but looks like they ran into a buzz saw and lost to the eventual winners.

On the majors side I don't think there were any surprises. I didn't do pool picks but I did have Team Florida defeating Central Florida in the ship.

Overall a pretty good weekend for baseball. A lot of expected and some unexpecteds! Would like to hear some Coaches comments on the quality of baseball they experienced this weekend.

BTW, I agree with the poster about 200' fence at 12U level. Way to short in my opinion.

We played the Michigan team in first pool play game and they had 14 kids and we won 12-10. We played them in the ship and they had 15 On the roster. The kid who started the ship for them had not not thrown any innings. He was touching 65-66, but sat at 61-62 most of his 4 innings. I would hope that on a roster that big you would have plenty of arms and they did. They made a strong run through the bracket out scoring their opponents 45-1 or something close to that.
