Should be a great tourney. Any predictions? There appears to be an upper echelon group of four and then all the others.

Hope someone gives Team Florida first in class L. Could be stealth since they are matched up in pool play. Those two and gators probably top 3. Who is your 4th?

Team Florida, Gators, Stealth. Then everybody else, those 3 are in a class by themselves . A team like J'ville Blue Claws can make some noise but that's about it.

There will be a few upsets. The middle of the pack Major teams and even possibly the elite ones better be careful of the AAAs lurking in the Lake. They may just get taken by surprise by some reptiles. There is a few AAA teams masquerading as Majors and this tourney will indicate this. Stros will upset a team in bracket play based on feedback I have received from their first game it should not be an upset as they are the real deal. They needed to get that first one under their belt.

Their will be some great games. Wish I could be their to see them. For all of you that picked the winner. (BANG THE BOX) you could be correct. If you look at the way the brackets are set up the ASTROS have a great shot at playing in the ship. Just hear me out. Team FL STEALTH and CF GATORS will have to beat up on each other. All the ASTROS have to do is win their pool they will not have to face any of these team unless they make the ship.So for all you great baseball minds take a good look at what I am saying and you will see if you understand baseball.

Is it me or did some teams get an easier draw? No way the two of hte best three teams in the tourney should have to face off so early. I can say it is interesting drama but really should not be the case so early on in a SNIT. Looks like this could have been done a bit more evenly.

One Way / Bangthebox

Sorry for back to back posts but my journalist peer from another periodical was dispatched to the "Rain, Rain Go Away" Triple Crown last weekend. He caught the Astros game and told me that they are just a tad rusty and for all that rust there is alot of polish and raw talent that appears to be well coached. He stated that they are the most disciplined 12u team he has seen in quite a while.

He said that they will make some noise and be in it at or near the end. That is without even seeing the bracket set up. One Way you hit the nail on the head with that analysis.

I agree but Stealth should have played a USSSA tourney prior to SNIT to get some points and this wouldn't have happened.

All you great baseball people STEALTH IS NOT THE SAME TEAM they have lost so much as far as talent. They lost all their big bats They lack pitching.I am not saying anything bad about them but they are not the same team. FLABB I just call a spade a spade and support my Atlanta based teams. They have a great chance to Win it all. If they can save pitching all the top teams will use it when they face each other. If someone can keep this site up to date on tthe scores of the games see u all in cummings.....

ONEWAY, don't assume the Astros will win their pool and cruise to the finals! No telling who those Florida boys will have in town this week end and the Saints are not to be taken lightly; 4 of 9 losses to Team Florida!. FLABB, you are always gracious, but Team Florida should walk through this!

Guys...everyone may want to take a closer look at the bracket. The Astros will not have an easy road to the finals IF certain things play out. Team Florida and Stealth are in Pool C while the Astros are in Pool D. Scenario 1 - Team Florida finishes first in Pool C, Stealth finishes second in Pool C and Astros finish first in Pool D. This would setup a potential matchup between Stealth and Astros in the quarter finals. Scenario 2 - Team Florida finishes first in Pool C, Stealth finishes second in Pool C and Astros finish second in Pool D. This would setup a potential matchup between Team Florida and Astros in the quarter finals. These are very real possibilities and by Team Florida and Stealth being in the same pool, it ensures they will not see each other in bracket play any sooner than the Championship game. So....playing each other in pool play may be better strategy for these two teams making all the way. Then in either case they would have to play Central Florida or a strong team out of Pool A to get to the ship. So an EASY ride to the championship game is a BIG....BIG stretch. As hittindeep stated, the Florida boys are known to bring in hired guns for big tournaments and you can expect it for this tournament as well. My prediction is Astros do well in pool play and get knocked out by either Stealth or Team Florida in the quarterfinals. This assumes of course that the Astros win their pool. You have to remember, Team Florida and other teams down south have played through the winter and are much more tuned up for this tournament. Why bet against Team Florida when they have not lost a game in their age group? Betting against them would simply be stupid. But that is what makes 12U baseball so fun, anything is possible, if only slightly!

Sorry Guys but I just don't see the Astros making it past the quarter final games, they haven't played many games if all compared to the FL teams. They will have a fight in these pool games and should finish 1-1, just don't see them finishing in the top 8.

Other than the top four obvious teams the rest is a toss up. Dramatic drop off after the elite. Strohs will make a nice run and surprise many. Watch out for the WP Cobras as well to surprise as they are much improved.

I don't normally post much on this site, but did want to respond to this one. First of all, I'm a coach for the Stealth as well as a dad so maybe my opinion is a little biased, but those that know me know that I pretty much tell it like it is. It seems as though the rumor mill has been spinning wildy this year about our team and I wanted to just clear the aire about a few things. While it is true that we lost a big bat from last year, we have some very good players that are more than capable of making up for it. We return 4 of the 5 leading homerun hitters from last year and have added a couple that are capable of hitting the ball out of the park at any time. We have also greatly increased our team speed from last spring which will help us as we play on some bigger fields. As far as pitching goes, we didn't really lose any major pitchers but we picked some up that will greatly add to the pitching depth we have looked to develop.
Now, I'm not beating my chest saying this years team is better than last years because you still have to play the games, but i do know that on paper, we should be improved in many ways. Now the key is just keeping everyone healthy which as kids get older seems harder and harder to do.
Now as far as this tournament goes, it is real simple. Team Florida should be the favorite in any tournament they play in, until someone consistantly starts beating them. The Central Florida Gators are VERY good and can beat anyone on any given day. We will have to be on top of our game and play mistake free baseball to beat either one of these teams. I can't speak to many of the other teams because frankly, I haven't seen them play. It does however look to be a good tournament with several very good teams so anything can happen.

Dspal32 - Good luck this weekend!

Before some teams even started to practice, you guys traveled down to FLA a couple times over fall/winter, and saw lots of FLA teams with good pitching. Y'all picked up one of my sons best friends over the last couple years - great kid, great family!

We'll be pulling for ya here in GA this weekend!

@ Dspal32! No need for you to clear the air to the opinionated. Those with an objective eye and know travel ball in Georgia, knows Stealth is just fine! What people fail to realize is that you and your staff coach your boys up. If is one thing to assemble a bunch of talent, but another to actually have that talent perform on a consistent basis. You've done it for 4/5 years now! It is scary to think y'all are deeper in pitching and faster! Smooth talking Glenn Newton picked it right and good luck this weekend!

Who on here actually thinks that One Way won't be in FL with his sons team? This stuff is very funny to read.

Most people around the park have figured out who is who on here and the East Cobb teams talking smack every week about their team is funny. I don't have a dog in this fight but I say Braves, Grays, RBI Titans and Hobgood in final four in Cumming(s).

Stealth will have to deal with a myriad of pitching styles. Most teams have figured out that they need to keep them guessing in order to counteract their big bats.

From the word on the skreet, Stealths team has actually gotten deeper in pitching depth and although they lost one of their 5 big bats, the speed they added should make up for the one kids long ball.

Also straight off the wire, heard the other team heading south from GA this weekend came up on the short end of the stick recently to a AAA team. Adding a 3-0 win over another AAA team this past weekend. My guess is they hope they play better agaisnt major teams, major pitching and major defense or it may be a long oneway drive back from FL.

CF Gators will be the last team standing Sunday with TF 1-2 runs short. CF 6 TF 4 Final
