GN--Hearing that I may have to move the Stealth up a bit on my power poll. The Strohs will fair well. The quality of the GA teams is very good for this tourney and Vortex could make a minor run and will upset a team or two in pool play or early bracket.

Also straight off the wire, heard the other team heading south from GA this weekend came up on the short end of the stick recently to a AAA team. Adding a 3-0 win over another AAA team this past weekend. My guess is they hope they play better agaisnt major teams, major pitching and major defense or it may be a long oneway drive back from FL.

CF Gators will be the last team standing Sunday with TF 1-2 runs short. CF 6 TF 4 Final

Good call on the Gators. There are three Ga teams which one are you referring to?

Good Catch 301 what to track it down out in the right center gap. Did not see or notice that 4th team lurking down there with all they hype on he top to GA squads. Once again that squad can make a run as well. Ga is well represented.

Nice SOGAS! Going on a limb here, but the only pick I will dispute is the Astros over the Saints. Saints win on a suicide squeeze 4-3!

I originally had Stealth over Team Florida but out of respect for their record and the amount they have already played vs the amount Stealth has played I went with Florida. Now without doubt I will be pulling for Derrick and his Stealth to win it all.

Caught Strohs win looked good. Stealth took one on chin 13 to 1 not sure on score. Not same team as last year but had a solid pitcher who finished game.

I got a few right. How about Vortex over Blue Claws! There were some close games and good games including our team.

Astros are a high class AAA squad but in a month will be legit Maj after more competition. Classy group and staff!

Vortex played game of the year IMO.

Stealth were overmatched. But Team Fla needs a bouncer checking IDs at the field entrance.

Boils down like we all said above but to put it in the vernacular it is the gansters versus the pranksters. And a couple of pranksters are ready to upset the party.

Haven't been on here since last year, but after many people telling me about this thread I decided to see for myself. The Stealth is a great team and probably has some of the greatest players in the country I know from being with most of them for the last 3 years as an assistant to Derrick and my son playing with them. The Stealth has added some great players to their roster. I think as with any team it takes time for a team to gel with each other and alot of times with a high turnover rate success is very hard to attain. I think with time and these kids playing together alot they will do just fine, I know they didn't do as good as they expected this weekend in Lake City but Derrick is dedicated and will put the time in to make them better as he allways does. The only problem I have with the coach that posted is that if we are to be so faith based how can we disrespect children by saying we didn't lose any major pitching, didnt bother me until that was all I heard about when I was in Lake City and then come home and read it for myself. We played with the Vortex this weekend and was only there for Saturday nights elimination game but had a great time and was able to enjoy a great dinner with the most precious little girl in the world.
I think some of us need to remember this is a open forum and when we post that kids and mothers read this also and that ultimately we are here for the kids.

Thanks,

John Patrick

Congrats to the Central Florida Gators and all the teams that competed and not just at our age level. There was some balling going on.

I called it based on my disucssions with our coaches see previous post. Did not do to bad after that as we threw darts at a board.

We did respectable with our rag tag team and finished ahead of at least one super team. Proud of our boys and the professionalism they showed.

With the stacked teams as a parent/coach it is almost no fun to go to these tourneys anymore. Although, with the emergence of these super teams my boys are excited and shoot to upset them whenever possible and that inherently makes them better. You can see the disparities closing slowly but surely.

The super teams come closer to the fold when they do not develop fundamentally and reps in practices as a team are harder to get logistically, if at all.

You think Stan the Man will let me change my name to Glenn "The Swami" Newton.
CF's prediction was based on hours and hours of scouting and discussion around the sandlot.
I also heard 75 was oneway most if the way back to GA.
