It didn't end the game, I believe it was either the 1st or 2nd run of the game and occurred very early in the game. However, I don't disagree with your comment about the umpire showing off. He pretty much did that the entire game. He did blow one major call for both teams benefit so at least he blew it for both.
What did the other umpire say or do regarding the call?

Here I am...HAHA!! I can almost guarantee this is what happend:
A few batters/pitches before, kid comes to the plate, before he gets in the batters box he looks at the ump and says "Mr Ump, the 3B has a foot in foul territory, isnt that a balk?"
The wheels start to turn in the head of Mr. Ump as he tries to remember "is it 1 foot in 1 foot out = ok or is it 1 foot out = illegal pitch...Dang it..I cant remember!!!"
He's thinking the whole time..what is it.
Finally, throw down to 3B. Ah-ha...
Mr. Ump yells "BALK".
He gets back into position and is thinking "Did I just blow that call? Was little Johnny, who put the thought in my ear a few batters/pitches ago, correct or is he wrong?"
