We have several players nursing injuries so we had no choice but to pull out, looks like a really competitive field of teams. Wish we were in it. |

If it was spring I would pick Rays and Rebels but since we're in the fall it depends on who has picked up the best or most talent. I hear several teams have picked up pitchers and/or big bats so they can say that their team won the Ga. Fall State Tournament. Can't wait till spring to see who is really playing with whom. |

Thats what I hear from what my friend whose kid plays for select tells me but football will do that won't it. Select red isn't playing this fall as a whole team. Select navy fall is 5 red/5 navy and a couple playing fall only. I don't think you are going to get a good feel of what ANY team will look like/compete until spring. |

I never make predictions but since this tourney includes so many "top teams" I am going to make a few, this will be the only time I do this so everyone should pay attention, I know all the teams, all the players, all of the add's/drops and who has pick-up players, who is playing football, hockey & lax, plus any injuries that have ocurred up to 6:00 p.m. tonight etc.. etc.. I also analyze each pool, took into account win/loss records on USSSA for the last 3 years. Then I spent countless hours crunching all this data. No one should get mad, this was purely scientific so if I offend someone I will ask you now to get over it:
1) one of the 23 teams that are playing will win this tourney 2) 21 of the 23 teams will lose in bracket play before the finals 3) one team will lose in the championship game 4) The team that wins the tourney will score at least one more run than the team that loses
Other predictions:
1) Bad calls by umpires will decide the outcome of some games for teams that lose (this may include inconsistent strike zones).
2) At least one of the teams (but probably more) will lose because they have football, hockey and/or Lax players
3) Several of the teams that win will win because they have pick-up players (The losing team will comment that we have to wait until Spring to really find out where everybody REALLY stacks up)
4) Many of the teams that lose will lose because it's only Fall Ball so it doesn't matter in combination with 1) & 2) above
5) Teams that beat other teams won't win because of 1), 2), 3) & 4) above, the win will be because they played great baseball, really gelled as a team and/or their kid pitched lights out or their kid hit a bomb, and as a result, their team scored more runs than the team they beat
Again, I am not trying to stir anything up. I just get sick of all the biased pre and post game analysis and thought that for once someone should take a stab at predicting the outcome of a big tourney with cold, unbiased calculations and sound assumptions.
BTW, I don't have a kid in this tourney, I just enjoy spending my whole weekend following 12U baseball.

not all of the pools are as evenly balanced and will send some to the gold braket where others at this early stage of the game in the fall will end up in the silver. Too bad. |

If pools were different you might have a major team slip into the silver bracket and run rule every team and win it all (in the silver bracket). That wouldn't be fair. I thought they did well with pool games to make a good split between gold & silver or should I say AAA and major. Makes it more fair for bracket play.

folks, tc pools have never been balanced and favor some of the stronger teams as its in the best interest of the tournament for them to make the gold bracket. by the same token you need to win one game and that will usually make it so you make the gold.
in other news it looks like the rays and titans have a game tomorrow so they will not meet in the ship. should be some good games tomorrow and watch out for laurens as they have the bats a popin this trip |

Wow, ya all sound like some politicians trying to justify a bill that is going to help the poor in the long run so they need to start out at a disadvantage in order to not to get hurt later on in the process because you would feel sorry for them.
The E Pool was the toughest pool, hind sight would have swapped one of these teams into the F pool. I think the Sox and the Reds felt the rath of the "lets control who gets into the Gold Bracket" this weekend.

Eastcobbkreskin, are you on one of these teams? If you are- maybe you shouldn't play triple crown if you don't like the draws?? Its done this way every tournament.... If your not on one of these teams--how would you know if they didn't want to play these better teams? Some SEEK out better competition whether they win or loose.
Which kind of team are you on?
