I just dont see smash or express contending in this one, there are 5-6 other teams I see winning this one. I won't say any names but let's just say i would be surprised if the winning team wasn't from gwinnett county.

BravesFan- I agree with you. I see 3-4 very strong AAA teams playing this weekend. I will have to disagree on who is going to win this one, but that is only because I have a horse in this race.

Not with any of them....actually do not live in the ATL area. Had a son play at ECB a few years back but we drove in for those two years. Looking at the field, I do not know all of them but thought those two had performed pretty well in talking with some friends in the Cherokee and Forsyth area. I don't mind naming names....heard those two ECB teams are not at the top...Collins Hill may be a good bet along with jackhammers. Am I just clearly missing a team that you all think is well above the rest?

ECBAAT when you say the two ECB teams are not
at the top, explain top. And if you live out of town
how do you know what roster moves have been
made. I coach one if the ECB teams playing and
i bet alot of people will be suprised at these two
teams.

I thought it was a good tournament. I also thought some coaches need to learn proper ways to argue calls on the field and strikes and balls. These kids are learnig baseball but they are also learning about how to succeed in life. For coaches to argue every call and aproach these umpires with such anger everytime they miss a call is just crazy.Remember these kids are watching everything you do on the field. The coaches need to handle themselves in a much more professional way. I saw a few teams hurt themselves by arguing every call from the start of the game and by the end of the game the umps were done!!

Remeber everytime you put on a uniform you and the kids represent your park and I think some parks are going to get a bad rap if the arguing keeps going on.

loganmill and SMASH....some how i need to transfer it over to the nfl on Sundays!!
loganmill and gwinnett....as for your questions on me....do not want to reveal my personal info on this but I played for Guerry Baldwin when he bunced around Sandy Springs and East Marietta (before there was an ECB) andmy sone played for him at ECB. Have a lot of connections in the area. This age group is where my a few members of my family play, including my third son. As for the rosters, I do not anything about the roster moves. I had just talked to a couple of people and that is what I took form the conversation.

Glad i could help you guys pick the championship so accurately...lol...it will never happen again.

Diamond Bears enjoyed the tourney and were pleased w our play considering our kids are all in football mode. (Very happy to win 3 games and only lose one and play good competition and very competitive games). We also had some issues with the umpiring in our semifinal loss, seemed the umpires expanded the strike zone the last inning (either they were in a hurry or just felt because a big kid was on the mound who they thought threw hard they needed to start ringing players up). Never understand how strike zone can change based on who's pitching.........as we told umps after game, we don't pay good money for our kids to come and walk, so why do you change the zone (even the opposing coach agreed).....oh well we enjoyed the hospitality Sharon springs offered us and our kids and families had a great time traveling up north. Still hoping some of you would consider coming to middle GA to play some tourneys in the spring.

Diamond bears I wathched your game and I saw you all disagree with the umpires calls but I thought you all handled it correctly. You went up to the umpire after the game called him to the fence and made your point. That is the way it should be done not yelling at the ump during the game.

By the way you all get the best uniform award in my opinion !!!!

BBball-fan......thanks for the compliment(we thought umps we had throughout the weekend had been consistent until the end of that game and if you saw the game you know we want our kids to hit, not walk and felt that we would have hit their big kid too, just frustrated how umps seem to get intimidated by a big kid pitching - not fair to kids when strike zone changes). Oh well our kids forgot about the game before we left the park and that should be true for all kids this age if the coaches are are doing it right.....as for the uniforms we've gotten lots of compliments on them (and you should see our all black ones)! Not bragging but.....we may not be the best baseball team on the field every game but our kids really enjoy having other teams and parents compliment them on their uniforms.....

Bball-fan i know what incident your referring to and
i can assure you there were apoligies after the game.
The biggest problem i had was the umpire doing his
job. All game long he couldnt keep up with the
batter counts asking the bookeepers how many
balls and strikes the batter had.
He was never in position to make calls, just not a
very good umpire. As I stayed and watched the next
two games there was complaints from other coaches
with the same umpires.
I agree there are better ways to handle situations
but in a high tense game things happen. I regret my
actions and apologized accordingly.

But i also think for larger tournaments there needs
to be a set standard for umpires. Every game we played
each umpire had his own different rules.

This was a very good run tournament. Just had
one set of umpires that had no business being there.

Just my .02¢
