Looks like a couple of Bandits and a coach are playing with a team called the 3n2 Knights out of North Carolina. One of those boys has played there 4 weeks. Another must be Lou's Grandson as they formed the 3N2 Bombers from Florida a few weeks ago. Should have played last week. Could have won that one rather easy. Couple from the Carolina Surge. If only Papa was there with the magic!!!

There are actually 5 Bandits there with my grandson being one of them. I don't think that they will be a contender but should make the others work a little harder than they might have liked. There are also 2 of the Bandits coaches and that might end up being a big advantage if we are able to save some pitching and get near the end. I would never count Coach Troy out. I understand that he has had some of the new guys at the cages and on the fields trying to teach them the Bandit way of doing things. If they can catch on quick, watch out Cooperstown. My greatest claim to fame if I actually have a claim to fame would be my 4 trips to Cooperstown Dreams Park and being in the final games all 4 times. 3 wins and a runner-up. If they get close enough I might fly up and make it 5 in a row.

You better book your flight now. Go to Binghamton instead of Albany. I know 2 of the other boys and they are both studs, so they should pick up Bandit ball easily. I thought the Lake Norman Wildcats stood a chance this week, but I must regress now and anoint this 3N2 Knights team the eventual champion. I would go back too if given the opportunity. Enjoy!!!

Papa is checking on the Airline schedule. The 3N2 Knights with the guest Bandit players are 6-0 with the bye to Wednesday night and have just enough pitching left to maybe get this done. What do you think bmoser: If we pull this off would it count of 1/2 or 1/3 of a win for Georgia.

Sorry Papa, you and I part company on this one. I think Cooperstown should be for teams, not collections of players. Call me old fashioned. Innocence lost.

I really don't think we are as parted on this one as you think. Papa was totally against this one from the start but in this game and with those you love even if you don't agree you still love, support, and encourage them. I don't get to make all of the decisions in their lives but do try and support them in all that they are doing. I wish that youth baseball in general would work a little harder to regain its center. I think the larger question is why this type thing is happening, not only at Cooperstown, but at the Elite, the NYBC, Little League and most likely any other organization that is playing baseball. I have read of at least 2 Little League regional winners that have been disqualified for roster irregularities.

Maybe we should start a topic and encourage all of youth baseball to put rules in place that would set boundaries and put rules in place that all teams would have to follow and take out the loopholes that allow rules to be broken.

As far back as I can remember there have never been any restrictions on rosters at Cooperstown other than being of age. Some kids have played there 4-5 times this summer with 4-5 different teams.

So you can be call me Old Fashion too as I think that is a compliment.

They got this won. Nobody left to touch them. papa's flight should be leaving any minute now, so he will probably not get to post until later.

Lou's grandson ain't all that. He played with Team Reebok the week South Wake Storm was there. They gave us a tough game but we beat them.

3N2 Knights in finals as expected. Too much pitching for these other teams. And they hit it a little too. Congrats Papa on another ship in the family. Must be nice.

Always proud of what the Bandits accomplish. But played on one of the teams that was waitlisted and who didnt get to go at all . There were many players this summer who were denied a trip to Cooperstown because they were "sold out" even though application was mailed last July. But somehow teams get put together and kids get to go over and over???????????????

The Bandits contingent from Georgia not only made it to the Championship in Week #10 at Cooperstown, NY but pulled off a sweet victory over the Bomber team from California. Papa was not there but if I had been it would be 5 straight trips to the ship for the grandson's winning 4 and losing 1. Cooperstown is one special place and I am sorry that I could not make it for this one but duty still calls at home and someone has to do it.

Glad to hear papa's position on this one, and I totally agree. I don't fault the kids that are getting these kind of oppportunities. But if my facts are correct, I think one grandpa (Lou) has gone too far in trying to guarantee his grandson a championship!! What message are we sending to our kids? The owner of Cooperstown preaches a message of playing for the glory of the game and fun, but then his grandson plays with 3 different teams that were put together just to win!

Rumor has it Lou Presutti paid all expenses for this little trip designed to benefit his grandson?? True or false?

I know he did for the 3n2 Bombers that his grandson was on who did NOT get to the ship in week 6. Same deal, ringer team comprised of players from Charlotte Megastars, Port St. Lucie and some others. Sandwich in the grandkids to ride the coat tails of the others. Wonder of the week 10 3n2 Knights would have been there had the deal gotten closed in week 6.

I think Lou Presutti is living the dream and also counting all our money. I enjoyed trip and the kids had a blast but man that guy is flat out raking it in. I stayed in house right across street and the owner sold him the land and now that guy is living the dream also with his rentals right across the street.

Side note all womens team is there this week. One of Georgia's own was selected to play this week for them. Go Gracie make Georgia proud.

That is crazy. Putting teams together for his grandson. If you only want Canadian and US teams you should only allow teams to play for states they reside in. It is not a fair playing field for every team if you just stack teams and throw your relative on it so he can win. Especially if it's free for those teams to enter. Maybe I am just jealous.

I heard they had a special barracks #13C that looked like a barracks from the outside but inside looked like a house, had a shower and bathroom with Central AC, Heat a big flat screen TV and a kitchen with Cook. OK I made this up. Now that would make for a good story!

I didn't hear about paying the players expenses, but honestly if I had a grandson who wanted to play multiple weeks I would find teams to play for before putting a team together.....Then again with all this guys money to burn I wouldn't want my kid to play for one of the AA teams that goes up there either when you could offer a free spot to a great team instead....

My grandson was not asked to play by the owner of the park at all. I don't even know who put the team together but I was told that the team was sponsored by the 3N2 group. My grandson was responsible for his own travel expenses and for what he ate outside the park and no one flew him there or flew him back. Inside the park the barracks and meals were paid by what I thought was the sponsor. Not much different from many other teams with sponsors. I do not have any direct knowledge of what part the owner of the park had to do with the trip or if he had anything to do with it at all but I learned to read early on and it is obvious what the majority of you guys are thinking. I was not aware of a lot is being said in the posts until he was already back home and playing football. I don't think that my grandson is even aware of the stir that him and friends playing seem to have caused. To be honest I don't think that anything happened the 10th week that didn't happen weeks 1 through 9. When the same type 3N2 team lost in week #6 no one said a word so I am guessing that winning has made Week #10 an entirely different type situation. If I had known then what I know now I will admit that I would have given it much more thought than I did. And if his parents and myself made a mistake by letting him attend please lay the blame on us and not on a gentle and humble kid that just wants to play ball.

You hit the nail on the head there Papa......People are talking about it because they won....Funny nobody ever talks about or complains about teams that suck...If they talk about you, they like at least a little something you are doing!!! Anybody that would lay any blame on the Chainsaw has obviously never met him!! The only way my nephew will attend Cooperstown next season is as a pickup player, and if they offer to pay his way I don't think I will view that as a negative!

Everyone there week 6 knew what was going on and was mostly rooting against them getting to the championship. There was no difference between week 6 and 10 except that the ringers brought in for week 10 were largely from Georgia. That's the biggest reason it came up on this forum.

Cooperstown has always been about putting together super teams to go play in that tournament. The two Georgia teams that won the NATC two years in a row (2007,2008) had players from everywhere. The 2007 team had players from Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida, and California. You can’t blame the teams or the coaches, because there are no rules in place to prevent that. If I was a coach of one of those teams, then I’d do the exact same thing. So, I don’t really think Lou did anything out of the ordinary.
