I am in the process of forming an independent, travel baseball team to play a few tournaments and hopefully some games this Fall in the rising 12U age division. While it remains a possibility this team will continue into the Spring if there is camaraderie among the players, coaches and parents, at this point, we are not seeking a time commitment for nine months or a heavy financial commitment at this time. Some of the boys who have already indicated an interest in participating on this team have played travel ball before, but some have not, but would like to see what it is all about and what the competition is like before their families invest significant time and money.

We will likely practice in the East Cobb area (not a part of the East Cobb program) at least once or twice a week. We plan on entering a few tournaments at the AA or possibly AAA level and see how things progress. Admittedly, this is probably not the right team for kids looking to play East Cobb, 643 or similar branded programs at the AAA-Major level, but it could be if you have tried out and have not already been selected on a team.

There will be no paid or professional coaches. The coaches will consist of dads who have played and know baseball and have developed an exceptional reputation for coaching youth sports. All we would ask is a commitment to show up to as many practices as possible (knowing there may be other activities during the Fall) and to attend games and tournaments when scheduled, to assure we are able to field a full team for games. The anticipated cost of participating will reflect tournament entry fees, umpire costs, hats/jerseys, insurance and incidental expenses.

If this is something that appeals to you, please email me at Astros1029@yahoo.com and I will be in touch to provide additional details and to obtain some information from you.
