Since were not in it I'll take EC Longhorns and Mid GA Moccs in the ship. Longhorns winning it all! A lot of great teams, ought to be a great one! Wish we were in it! |

U got to be kidding. I would agree withe the longhorns and possibly braves in the ship. I think Rays and Stealth will follow. There are no easy games here and we are hoping that because of the brackets are set up by usssa rules that a few of the big boys wil knock each other out. Wish the format would call for a few wild card teams. |

lol! We just had to make a roster move so we are 1 short for this weekend. It was our catcher so we will be limited, hopefully we can hang with all the teams.

Thanks again for all the confidence!! Pretty sure the Braves scored 214 runs last time we played them! I feel we will do just fine but this tourney is stacked.... |

You said wish "we" were in it...what team do you play for & if its a local Majors team why not get in a tournament with such a great field?
Just Curious. |

Gwinnett's son plays on Shiloh. Not to make excuses, but just stating the unfortunate facts. We carry 10 solid players, and have 2 of our top players out of town this week. We also have a couple of boys that have tired /hurt arms. Even though we signed up for this tourney months ago and wanted to compete against these top teams like we have done all year, it just didn't make sense with the boys we have available. We also need to get them all healthy since we are leaving for Panama next week. With so many top teams it could go many ways, but you need to go with the Braves & Stealth. |

Hate to see the Shiloh Titans miss this tournament . If you look at the bracket I think it is likely that the Braves and Stealth would meet prior to the final game. Like I said there are no easy games in this tournament but a few have better matchups. I think the Stars have the hardest matchup playing Stealth-Longhorns-643. Moccs dont play til Friday and wondering how much of a disadvantage it will be with pitching. BTW- Where are East Cobb Titans , East Cobb Yankees and Southern Sluggers? |

Pretty sure the Yanks are off this weekend, southern sluggers haven't ventured up to the ATL in a while. Titans are playing AAU over at harrison park.
Stealth and Braves are the top teams in this tournament, Braves had had some of the hottest bats and will prevail. |

Not sure how we upgraded so much, we lost one of our core players to the Rays on Tuesday. Kid was our #4 hitter and a sunday pitcher, so that is a big pick up for them. Not sure we have enough arms to even advance far this weekend but we'll give it a shot. |

What could have been a great championship game between the two top ECB teams ends up being a MAJOR disappointment. Due to a technicality (7 inn pitched in one day), the ECB Braves challenged it and won by forfeit over the Longhorns. It was the bottom of 3rd, score 1-1. A new pitcher was being brought in for the last 3 inn. I understand rules are rules, but the Braves could have let the boys play it out on the field. If the Braves lose, call the violation. If Braves win, you win 2x and gain a new level respect by the baseball community.... Now the USSSA State Championship is tainted. What a lesson for the boys!!!

I wasn't going to comment but I couldn't help myself....First congrats the the Braves for "winning" and it was gonna be a battle regardless. I do disagree that every team would take advantage of this rule, as I prefer and would hope that most men would prefer that the outcome of sporting events are determined on the field of play...maybe that is just me tho? It was my nephew who pitched too many and during the run we had I will honestly say I thought he had 3 innings left as well. After beating the Grays and Stealth in one day it is hard to leave the field and not feel good about what was accomplished by our boys. I can't help but laugh at the boys comments on the way out and on facebook wishing they could have at least finished playing the game!! 11 year old kids usually tell the truth, and there were FURIOUS and didn't feel defeated in the least......Moral of the story is EVERY single team at this level needs a secretary of some sort to keep up with their own teams innings as well as the other teams innings.....Lesson learned |

biggin, I have no dog or cat in this fight either but both teams no each other well since their from the same park. I would have informed the other team and just asked them to remove the kid, probably was a mistake on their part for going over. Then go out and earn it on the field rather then by a protest and forfeit but that is just me.
I'm more old school then most if you get my drift brawww! |

Don't see tournament results posted anywhere. What happened in brackets? Scores/matchups anyone? Also agree with @biggin. Why would following the rules and ensuring others do result in a black eye? Longhorns knew what was at stake. Why should they get a pass on the rules and why should Braves be blamed for it? |

I would take the forfeit win. The rules are the rules, no matter when they are broken. Too bad the game did not get to play out. Both of those teams are tough. |

All anybody did in the unfortunate circumstance was follow procedure and the rules, The Braves questioned the innings pitched, the innings were verified from the official scorecards, the protest was made and upheld by the umpires after it was verified that the player had just pitched over 6 innings in one day. There was other possible paths that the Braves asked to do to keep the game playing, however, once again, the umpires did their job by not allowing the game to continue once it was verified an illegal pitcher was used, the game was at that point declared a forfeit.

Jacked-Up –
Not sure I follow your train of thought on a couple points….. Don't know how ‘ECB’ gets the black eye here?? ECB didn’t have anything to do with what happened on Sunday.
Like Biggin - I don’t have a dog in the fight, but did hang to watch the ‘ship. I’m not a coach, just a parent, but my son pitches, and since he does, I know the innings pitched rules for USSSA, TC, etc.. While I’d rather see kids compete to win on the field of play, not sure I’d agree calling a rule a technicality.
Also, easy to tell which team your from, and you guys are very talented – always bring the best out of my son when he plays against your kids because he luvs the challenge playing your team. I think it’s awesome that we probably have 3 of the top 5 or 6 teams in the state @ ECB, but any given weekend you could wind up with a different top two ECB teams.
2 last points…. 1) Hope the Gray’s coaches son is doing well, and he gets back on the field soon. 2) Hope all the Dad’s had a GREAT Fathers day!!!! I had a fantastic day being able to hang out with my son (+ all the other baseball Dad’s & Mom's) at the ballpark. HAPPY FATHER”S DAY!
