The schedule is out. I think the Elite Division is completely up for grabs! You can get to the schedule from the Hopewell home page at www.hopewellbaseball.org
Looking forward to a great tournament!

SS, Man you are killing me. I have grandsons playing on two differnt teams at the same time. At least the first games at 8 on Saturaday are at Hopewell, Second games at 11:30 one at Midawy one at Hopewell Great job on pulling this together. I knew that this would be the case. Looks like a great tournment. Your team should be in it |

Andy, I noticed the Marietta Patriots and Forsyth Outlaws got back to back starting at 8:00am Sat. How's that work exactly. Back to back is tough enough but obviously not uncommon. However, 8:00am doesn't help things. Just curious. |

Obviously, would prefer to avoid that whenever possible, but we're juggling numerous issues and some back to back games were necessary. |

Not andy but not sure what the issue is? 8:00AM is tough but at least it's not going to 90 out when other teams have to play in the afternoon. Also, I think most teams prefer back to back so the boys stay focused rather then running around between games but that's jmho |

BravesFan, I agree 100%. IMO, back-to-back is actually an advantage. 8am is never fun draw, though, but that's baseball.
This appears to have the makings of a great tourney! |

As coaches, and not trained tournament directors, we've taken the view that we're trying to accommodate as many teams as we can when they have reasonable requests. That, and juggling three separate facilities where we don't want teams to have to move much between the three, has caused some less than optimal, but ultimately acceptable, compromises. As I stated earlier, I have new found respect for folks who do this for a living. I now understand why they simply post their schedule and are done with it, because every attempt to accommodate one teamm has a corresponding effect on another team or teams. At the end of the day, I think we got the schedule to a place where everyone can live with it.
On to baseball!!!!
P.S. Logan, you're going to kill me. Check the schedule. I owe you one! |

Andy,Baller,Braves fan, I wasn't trying to criticize. Was just curious on how it became both back to back and early time slot. I too agree that back to back is better but not having to be the one to put it all together and understanding it's not an easy task, I was simply wondering. Just from looking at the brackets I couldn't see where it was a must to do but again I didn't have the task of doing it. Personally, the two seperately is no biggie and definitely part of travel baseball but together can be tough. Obviously sometimes there's no way around it. I think Andy and anyone else involved has done a great job with this and it will be a very good tourney and some great match ups. Don't take my question or statements to personal. |

Our schedule seems doable, but I think our draw of teams pretty much assures us a spot at the bottom of the brackets....ha ha! |

Andy;
Having been a first time TD for our recent Barnett Bash, you are right when saying you have a lot of respect for full-time TD's. It is a very time consuming and tiring effort, but at the end well worth it. Hang in there, things will look a lot better next week;-) |

Heard the sp wildacats made a nice run to the ship, they will play one of the wills park teams who are playing each other in the other side of the bracket. |

Great championship game. Wildcats get a walk-off 2-run double to win 8-7 in the 7th inning. |

Okay, so there were 2 divisions in this tourney. Maybe I'm jumping the gun but it's been 2 days now and nothing said about the teams that went to the championship in the travel division and how they played. Was this tournament more about the elite division or what. From what I can tell it was close in the travel division also. Congrats Acworth and SS Blue and again to Acworth for taking it all. |

My bad SSBuckeye. Guess I'm just use to looking here for any updates. My appologies to Shaw Park Legends also. I congratulated SS Spartans Blue when it should have been you guys for making the ship. No offense Spartans. When I last looked at the Hopewell site that's what I gathered. Apparently I had it all mixed up though. Hopefully I have it right this time. Sorry guys. |
