We might be able to see who's the #1 team "this week" after the dust settles.

Playing at the Chuck will make teams play just a little different style of ball. Plus with rain in the forecast you'll still be able to get games in barring any lightning.

I was wondering how the brackets will be set. Just so we may see some of the match ups we want. I know a lot of people want the Astros -vs- Chilidogs matchup. I would be silly to ask for predictions so I'll just say good luck to all the boys and hope they all play great ball!!

Turns out 13s are playing on turf, not dirt advantage HP.

Turf won't affect pitching and hitting. Still gonna have their hands full.

I haven't been to the Chuck in a couple of years. What is the pitching mound like? I do remember that its a really deep park and balls tend to take high bounces off the turf.

Definitely a deep park. I believe it is 418 ft in center and about 330 down the lines, LOTS of ground to cover in the outfield. Mounds are the temporary/movable type. They are large though, not the type you the pitchers will fall off of. Also, to anyone coming to play no metal cleats allowed. Molded cleats, turf shoes or running shoes only.

We may have people camping out the night before for seats. LOL

Should be a great matchup and you can bet it won't be treated as a "pool play" game.

Yep, it will be handled as a pool play game, can't win anything on Saturday. :)

Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, and Chris Fowler will be their for the 13u gameday pregame show. Special guest will be Pulpwood, Darnell, Spygate, and Knucklecurve. But the Chilidogs have a game before the Astros, lets focus on the game at hand. Go Chilidogs!!

I HEAR YA BIG DAWG, WE HAVE HAD TO FIGHT TOOTH & NAIL WITH SEVERAL TEAMS IN THIS TOURNAMENT ALREADY THIS SEASON, MGBA, GAMERS, PRIDE, ALL GOOD TEAMS & GETTING STRONGER, ITS NEVER EASY, ITS JUST THAT SINCE THIS TEAM WAS PUT TOGETHER 9 MONTHS AGO DOWN HERE, "THE CHILIDAWG NATION" RECOGNIZES ONLY "THE CHOSEN ONES" FROM THE MIGHTY NORTHSIDE (THE ONES THAT BREATHE FIRE) AS THE TEAM TO BEAT.

Astros manhandle Chilidogs. Not even a game. Astros then have a hard time with a spunky Parkview team. They beat Parkview in the bottom of the last inning after time expired. Astros 2-0, Chilidogs 1-1, Parkview 0-2. In the "B" bracket, Gamers go 2-0, beating EC Pride, and win a see/saw game in the bottom of the last against MGBA Braves.
Very impressed with Astros bats from top to bottom in the Chilidogs match up. Same with the Gamers team. Gamers give up 7 runs in the top of the last inning to fall behind 13-10 and then the baseball must have looked like a beach ball to the Gamers because everybody hit it in their come back.

Good all around ball today from the teams. It did have it's moments between coaches and umps. But that made for that much more entertainment. Great weather.
Tomorrow we get to see these teams pull out their real guns. Should be a lot more pitchers duels.

Way to go Chilidogs!! Congrats on winning the tournament 3-2 in final game today! I must say the Astros are impressive; however, the Chilidogs pulled it out in the end.

3-2 in the ship sounds like it was an awesome game. Pitchers must have been on to hold these two teams to 5 runs.....

Congrats HP.

Congrats to HP for a big win over the Astros. Overall, good baseball played all weekend. I know all eyes were on the Chilidogs and Astros, but let's back up a couple games to the game between the Astros and the Pride. itsbaseballtime said there must have been some great pitching to hold these two teams to 5 runs, and I agree it must have been because that Astros team is very talented. The Pride held the Astros to 2 runs, losing only 2 to 1 after out hitting the Astros like 6 hits to 2 (Astros reached on a few infield errors). That's pretty good baseball holding the mighty Astros to only 2 hits in 6 innings and getting 6 hits off of one of their aces (big arms). Good Job Pride!!! There were a lot of good hit balls by both clubs!

Excellent job Chilidogs for winning it, and again the Astros prove to be an excellent ballclub. Kudos to the Parkview Panthers for playing good baseball (they hit the ball), the Gamers for a couple good wins, and MGBA for continuing to show they belong up there as well. Well done kids... good baseball!

We had a great time @ the Chuck this weekend, 2 things, there were some great teams down there this weekend and although we didn't pull off some wins our boy's know what the coaches have known all year.. Parkview can hang with anyone.... Thanks for a great time down at the Chuck...
BTW how good was that rematch that the score was only 2-1? after that first game I thought it was a wrap or was HP just playing Possum?
