Right or wrong we just finished our last game at 1:15!! I'm not sure it could have been done any other way.....But playing til 1:15 only to be back at 9 is wrong for most 11yr olds.....Also, it might be a prerequisite for a Super NIT to be played on a bad/low quality field...North Carolina Super NIT fields are about equal with Atlanta Super NIT fields, not that great!! 8$ gate fee just like Atlanta as well... |

Consider it a warm-up for Cooperstown. With the weather they get, it's a VERY common for games to finish between midnight and 2 am there each week.

No reason to be floored, I was ready to come home when we did. Our quarter final game ended after 6PM. We didn't finish our second pool game until 1:15AM and then had to be back at the park by 9 to start bracket play. To make things worse, they went no time limit on Sunday and the first bracket game went just over 3 hours, championship game was 3 hours late. They cannot schedule games 1:45 apart, last time entering that one. |

I had heard the games times were all off schedule and the 1am game ending. That's a little much for 11s. Never seen a tournment where the bracket was no time limit, interesting.
Well, hope your next tourney goes better. |

Our level of play from the first bracket game to the second was night and day, didn't even look like the same team!! I will say that this was by far the sorriest tournament we have attended in awhile! For starters the park was a hunk of junk, the scoreboards hadn't been turned on in years and the umpires made ATL umpires we love to hate look like the real deal MLB guys!! Two games the homeplate umpire didn't even have a clicker to keep the count with, and several times was asked the count and just made something up knowing he would be corrected!! Very unprofessional, and more than once a kid would throw the bat and trot to 1st only to be called back, only to be corrected and sent back to 1st! The officiating was a JOKE!! The fields did drain well and I was amazed we were even to play baseball on Saturday, but I believe it exhausted the field crew because asking them to drag the field between games got HOSTILE!!! The woman who raked 4sq. feet in front of the mound then walked off the field, when asked to drag the field we were told her intention wasn't to drag the field until the ship 9 hours later!! |

How does a 9-1 game take 3 hours to play? Weather/officiating?
Sounds like a terribly run tourney. Going 6 with no time limit for all bracket games is ridiculous. There is a reason for time limits (ship excluded). These are 11 year old pitchers/catchers. Not healthy for the kids playing and throwing all those innings.
I for one appreciate what we have here in GA a little more after reading these horror stories.
Can't believe a bid was in the balance. Area Stars? no pitching left for the ship, everyone worn down and what do you get, whoever wins the endurance contest at the detriment of the kids arms goes to Disney- a watered down elite 32 field of teams.
IMO, there should be a 100% consistency in rules for all SNIT's or the Elite 32 is going to lose its luster. Come on USSSA, you can do better.
What a joke. WE NEED ANOTHER SNIT in GA!!!!! |

The Area Stars looked pretty good from what I saw.....Of course they have about 30 kids on the roster, so they probably have plenty of arms!!!! I can totally agree that this tourney was run about as poorly as it gets.... |

Not sure of the game time limit on the fields the Longhorns were on, as we were at a different field, but our games on Sunday in bracket play had a 1:45 time limit. |

Their web site clearly stated no time limit for bracket play. The first game Saturday was started with the agreement of 1 hour 45 minute limit. Umpire even said it was suppose to be unlimited but TD said to make it timed. When the game got close, the losing team challenged the time limit. They called the TD to the field and he made it unlimited!!!! How do you change the rules when agreed to by both teams during a game???? |

The Area Stars only have 10 kids on their current roster. If they showed up with more than that, they were playing illegal unless they have released those kids already. |

I agree, the number of players that some of these teams have on their 11u roster is ridiculous, some from GA even have 20+ names on their roster!!!! |
