Don't feel sorry for the Braves. We played them in Winder a few weeks ago, and they are clearly still the team to beat this weekend. Talented and experienced top to bottom.

Titan,

Looks like you'll get a rematch vs. the Braves this weekend. This has to be the marquee match up in pool play. Others I like to advance to Sunday's Gold bracket are the Stars, Rays, EC Titans, 643 Cougars, Braves and Titans.

The 10U Longhorns should advance too, they have 2 tough games but should be 1-1 with a 7-10 seed or so.

I saw where the EC Spartans beat the 643 Cougars in pool play. Did Spartans pick up a few players or just played really well against Cougars? I guess the EC Yankees will definitely make the Gold Bracket on Sunday as well. Interested to see how the Ec Braves Shiloh game turns out. The question will be will both teams treat this as a normal pool game or something else. I look for both to make the Gold and wouldnt be surprised to see Shiloh take it all...

IMO, The BRaves are still the team to beat. They may have lost a few games recently but Shiloh will not beat the Braves.

Moccs, thanks for the words of encouragment. We'll try our very best! We have two tough games. Andys team coming off a SNIT win and the Braves. We will see what the boys bring that day. It will be a great tournament playing these great teams win or lose! Good luck to all....

I clearly feel the Shiloh team needs to stay rested and refreshed for that tough 10 AM game. Might even want to sit some of their better players for the 8 AM game! Just trying to help out any way I can!!!

In all seriousness, though, we're exited about the chance to play a team like Shiloh. It's why we sign up for tournaments like this. Good luck to your team, Gwinnett!

SSbuckeye, thanks and thats why we play in them too---so we can play teams like the Braves and all the others! It'll be nice to finally meet you and good luck with your team! I have a feeling we won't be playing at 8am so maybe we will all get some extra rest....

I dont have a team, my kids arent in this age bracket, I just enjoy watching and following youth baseball and this seemed to be the age group with a lot of loyal, dedicated, knowledgable, energetic followers. One day I hope Junior gets the opportunity to play for an Elite travel team, but for now, we'll settle on the good old Dizzy "no bats allowed" Dean rec ball program.

Absolutely dont know who Newton is and certainly don't agree with ANY of Newton's other posts. Most seemed only aimed at stirring the pot and getting folks upset.

Have seen the Titans and Braves play many times.

IMO Braves are very well coached and have played and won at the Major level for a couple years. Top 5 11u team in the state. will rise to the top again if injuried players are able to come back.

Titans are a good team that is adjusting to the move to Majors this year. Dominated at AAA last year. Seem to have some very strong players but don't think they would use the top pitcher in the 2nd pool game. Probably wouldn't matter if they did.

I thought Shiloh has already beaten the Braves in a pool game once this season?? The Braves are dealing with two serious injuries to big pieces on their team. When healthy they will still be a force, regardless of injury still a top 3 team in the state. I haven't seen Shiloh yet this season but they picked up two strong players from Signature Park and Gwinnett's boy as well. Should be a good game!!

Hi Folks - wanted to give a shout-out to a few teams that really had good weekends. I didn't get to see all the teams but here's a few that really had good runs and played well.

ECB Yankees - really came together and played very well thru both pool play and bracket play before running into the Bravos.
Hobgood Thrashers - wow can those kids hit! tough team that is on the rise and playing well. Impressive offensive display in bracket play with good wins against NG Bulldogs and a good Georgia Select team that beat one of their rivals in Shiloh.

Congrats to the Braves too.

Do want to highlight a good display of sportsmanship last night. After one of the Braves went yard, and got congratulated by his team at home plate our pitcher called out to him on his way to the dugout and tossed him the HR ball. Classy move between two friends.
