I think quality of tournament has to mean something, doesn't it? I want to know who has won the tourneys where 8-10 or more of the top teams have been playing. I already know, but just asking out loud. I've seen Triple Crown Silver Brackets that were better than some of these non sanctioned or even USSSA tourneys.

I've watched most if not all of the top GA teams and I still think Longhorns have the best chance to win on any given day. BUT, as someone mentioned anyone can win on any weekend and that's great for the game. There are other age groups where there is a clear cut best team. I think in this age group we have quite a few great teams and whoever gets hottest on Sunday plays for the championship.

For me personally, it's incredible to watch these 9yo boys play ball at the level they do. Good luck to all the rest of the season!!!!

Talking about top 9u teams, my hats off to Homeplate for their tournament win in Lagrange. There is no quit in that team, had them down 8-1 late in semi and they battled back for the win. Very talented team and well coached, a real class act. I would love to see them in Spring National.

Phattso, totally agree with everything you said. Love the "parity" at the top end in this age group.

Wow.

Again it's wide open. The Buzz came through 1 month ago and looked weak, Not anymore. I love when coach pitch teams come in and beat all these former 8U pitching teams.

Great Job.
Buzz Now your the team with the target.

Great job by all who participated in the big tourny this weekend. The Gamers did well and is looking to get better as the season goes on. Much respect to oregon park but a parent posted awhile back that we got "pounded" by the braves in a game we lost 13-8. We were down 11-0 and was one at bat away from a win. The 13-2 agianst y'all this weekend was a "pounding" so be careful when you take shots. Big props to the Buzz for the way they competed. Hands down definately the best team I've seen this year. Great job and sportsmanship. Go Gamers!

What a gold bracket. The Gamers throw a no hitter and run rule the Copperheads, who saw that coming?. Then Buzz vs Gamers, a great one to watch. The Buzz jumped out to an early lead with the Gamers scrapping back each inning, loading the bases with 2 outs unable to score then 2nd and 3rd in another inning unable to score. Final score Buzz 10 Gamers 7. Great game both teams. Look forward to seeing these 2 teams matching up again.

Gamer thanks for the kind words. One thing that amazes me about your team and many others in the Atlanta area is how you handle winning and losing. When we did jump out to the early lead your parents were still cutting up with us and having fun. The score didn't matter. Your parents are baseball savvy and knew we had just started hot. You guys kept chipping away and from the time the game started to when it ended I never saw any difference in any emotions from your parents or players. That, in my opinion, is what it is all about. We all like to read the forums for information as well as a little opinion, and I must say that any ranking index that does not include the Elite Gamers is not an accurate index.

My post was respect for the Braves and Gamers. Braves were hot in that particular tourney, I saw the game and how they jumped up quick. I wasn't taking a a shot. I also realize that this was early in the season and you guys were still figuring out what you had.

You guys played great against us this past weekend. We beat y'all the first 3 innings and you "pounded" us the final 3 when we unraveled. We look forward to playing high quality teams like you guys. I know it makes me better as a coach and I'm positive it only makes our kids better.

@ Phattso....apologies to you if I interpreted the statement wrong. Love to see the kids go out, compete and have fun doing so. Yes, the first half of our season was very up and down but the coaches had it all planned out well. We tried several line-ups and kids in diff positions to see what the correct mix was which is essential when two teams combine. Hopefully, the plan continues to be a winning formula as now is the time to start peaking. Good luck to you as the season goes on and hopefully we'll continue to play top teams such as yours and a few others. Go Gamers go.

Kinda reminds me of the whole collegiate football playoffs argument. We can't even get all the top 9 year olds together to play. And I'm sure we couldn't agree on who those 12 teams should be, either - just like college football's rankings. :)

You don't have to do 12 and it doesn't matter but they need to have a battle of the south for 9u. Bring anyone who wants to play that wasn't a ranking just 12 teams i could think of.

We were at gulf shores and saw the buzz win and at TC to see longhorns win. These two teams are definitely the top two teams. The raiders did not seem to be at the same level as the longhorns.
