Okay, enough is enough! All of the teams mentioned are good. BUT, not all are REALLY GOOD. Baldy - sorry the REDS just aren't in the "click". As for the Longhorns - GREAT team, but only when they are not roster restricted (USSSA) and can get whatever player/s they choose for a weekend. Raiders - GOOD - always, but HAVE to be at their best to compete with the other "GOOD" teams week in and week out.

Buzz - All class and GREAT at EVERY aspect of the game - ALWAYS (win or lose).

West Forsyth - same

EC Braves - Win a lot, but not sure how or why- Not to disrespect them, but just not sure. They beat us - still confused.

Copperheads - on and off, but mostly ON.

It's just crazy. Every weekend, a few teams beat teams they "shouldn't" and teams beat teams they "should".

We'll never REALLY know. The good thing is that at 9U, the talent is CRAZY GOOD. Think about 5 to 7 years from now when these kids are all playing High School ball. WHO KNOWS????????

Only problem with your assessment is the Triple Crown State tourny results where the Longhorns played with what could be called an ULTRA restricted "USSSA" roster due to injury and illness.

They only had nine and did NOT have the player who can't play USSSA events.

Bottom line...the 9u LHorns delivered an outstanding, gutsy performance short-handed and injured.

Try if you may, but you can't take anything away from them here...they earned all our kudos for this one.

I agree, the top two teams this year have to be the WF Diamond Dawgs and the Buzz. Many other teams have been a little disappointing based on early hype. Other solid teams behind these two would be Lake Lanier Copperheads, North Georgia Renegades, and at times ECB Longhorns.

A VERY GOOD measure will take place this weekend at the Nations tournament. This should be a fun tourney to watch! Raiders and WFDD in the ship with the WFDD taking it. Any other predictions?

WFDD was out in two bracket pool games last week in TC and lost to Renegades last night in pool play at Nations. Today will tell the story but i sure don't think that WFDD is a top two team. I will admit that they are good but not top 2.

I agree "Coach Ga". The EC Braves had more players from other teams on the field last night and once again they were using the new players to pitch their pool play innings.

WFDD lost first two (2) brackets games today at the Nations State tourny. Renegades, Copperheads and Raiders looking good...

I see some of these teams with 13-14 kids on there roster so adding 2 kids to a 11 kid roster doesn't seem any worse than carrying 14?

Especially after this weekend at the Nations State tournety I would have to disagree about WF Diamong Dawgs being one of the top two teams in Ga. WFDD lost their first two bracket pool play games for the 2nd tournament in a row and lost to the Bandits 12-2

The D Dawgs are very good team. Too many tournamnet wins to dispute that. I hear alot about the OP Sharks coach on who is good and who is not, Try winning a tournament or 2 before you qualify who is in the "Click".

I don't think you have to skipper a championship team before you are allowed to offer an opinion but I would have to check the fine print.

Longhorns were the best team I saw all year. After that, there's a crew of D-Dawgs, Buzz, Rangers, Yard Dogs, Copperheads, Raiders, Renegades, Braves, Sharks, Warriors and a few others who can take down any tournament. Parity is on solid ground in this age group.

Hmmmm.... Not sure who you are implying, but I'm a Sharks coach. I have much respect for the WFDD. Clayton and crew are a great bunch and he knows I think that. We all are allowed to have our opinions and I feel like Longhorns and Buzz are at the top of the class at this age group. But, as I have mentioned several times, this is a fantastic age group with a lot of different teams that can win on any given weekend. And tournament championships aren't needed to form an opinion.

I have to say that teams that pick up players and pitchers in particular for this or that tourney must be docked when considering top five or top whatever number.

Battling fatigue and injuries is all part of it and I am glad Coach plays it that way rather than using mercenaries and hired guns.

One New York Yankees organization is enough for any sport; no fine print needed.

Buzz Baseball Wins AAU Championship!
See below great article
Buzz Win AAU Grand Nationals at ESPN Wide World of Sports
Monday, 27 June 2011 11:24
- By Ernie Rapiere
Saturday June 25, 2011 Florida Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex was the site for the 2011 9U AAU Summer National Championships. This year’s champions came down to a final match-up between Buzz Baseball of Ringgold, Georgia and the Young Guns of Tampa, Florida. When the last pitch had been tossed, the 9U Buzz had taken a 4-1 victory to win the title as the 2011 AAU National Champions.
The #4 seed Buzz Baseball earned their way into the finals with a 6-3 win over a very good Central Florida Wolverines team. The #2 seed, West Florida Young Guns, beat TBS Honorable Mention (#3 seed) Florida Piranaz by a score of 12-2 to get their pass into the finals. This win brought the Buzz’ season record to 47-17 and marked their 6 tournament win of the year.
Winning big championships is not new for this team. They have played together for a number of years. They won their first big title as 6U's taking the Dizzy Dean World Series. They returned as the Dizzy Dean “Runner-Up” as 7U's, and went on to win the USSSA Global world series last year as 8U’s. However, while all of the big wins were great, none were any bigger than this win today. This team had been tested throughout the season having played a number of 10U teams. In fact, 13 of their 17 losses came against 10U teams.
Buzz Baseball comes from Ringgold, Georgia - a city located in Northwest Georgia that is quickly becoming known as a “Hot Spot” for producing champions. In fact, the current #1 team in the nation at 12U is the Bandits - another product of Ringgold, Georgia Baseball.
Congratulations to this fine young team. Winning an AAU National Title is an honor that will last a lifetime. Says Coach Scott Norton "Our win is a product of kids who like playing together as a unit. We have been together since the age of 6U and we are supported by great parents. These factors are the big reasons that helped us win”.
The great news for coach Norton is that all 10 players will be returning next year. This team has its goals set on Cooperstown. Watch out for the Buzz in 2012.
