Looks like the Chili Dogs have to have the edge as of today as being the #1 team 1.Chili dogs 2.Astros 3.Road runners 4.45's 5.Braves/Gamers
Chili Dogs take care of business in Savannah, beating the Roadrunners by almost two touchdowns. Roadrunners beat the 45's 10-6 in the semi's. Back in the ATL, ECB Braves lose to the Tampa Crush, who then go on to beat the Astros in the ship 5-4. On the Southside, the Gamers step up to the 14AAA level and win their tournament in Union grove, Ga. playing on the big fields. I knew this would be a great weekend for ball!! Good weather, kids back from high school ball, and all the big names playing. Side note... did anyone attend the Tampa Crush tryouts for their invitational tournament??? They are looking for players all across the U.S. for a tournament team they're forming.
Question for the coaches and parents out there. What are the thoughts about having a ballot (by coaches only) to select a ALL GEORGIA 13-U team? They won't play a game, just the recognition by coaches that they have played against. No voting for kids on your own team (but you can nominate their name and stats to other coaches for thought). Must have the mass number of votes from other coaches and stats to back it up. Sort of like an College All American football team(1st and 2nd team). It could be broken down into Major/AAA/AA teams if you like. I know we can't post names on this site but we could say...that pitcher, #3 for Happy Joe's pool hall has the best fastball in 13U-AAA. Only positive comments on kids, If you don't think he's top dog name someone else. Set a team number at 20 kids and break them down at positions. That way we don't get 12 short stops.
Parents and coaches alike might get a kick out of seeing one of their own here. After all the discussions, we set July 4th as the deadline. Being named(without the naming)to the "NWBA 13U All-Star team" would be a GREAT honor. |

O.k. looks like the Roadrunners may have moved up a position or two. Chilidogs win their tournament. Astros barely got edged out by a very stout Tampa Crush. Braves made no ground, but didnt' give any up this weekend. Stixx and Pride didn't fair too well in Tenn. SNIT. 45's make it to final 4 in Savannah.
1. Astros/Braves 2. Chilidogs 3. Roadrunners 4. Stixx/45's 5. Pride/MGBA Braves
Has Pulpwood done any decifuring lately? |

Please keep names or numbers (anything associated with 13 year olds) off this web board. There is a time and place for recognition of individual effort....13u is not the time...this conduit is not the place. |

IS KNUCKLECURVE A CHILIDOG IN DISGUISE??? quote: Originally posted by knucklecurve
Seriously!? HP deserves credit for the Super NIT big win. They should be considered #1 at this point. They played awesome through bracket play, which wasn't an easy ride! Didn't see the team from NC play, but know they beat the Astros and one other Georgia major team mentioned on this thread. I saw the BB play and they are, to me, on the same level, if not higher than the Astros....I'd say that deserves #1 right now. People really need to stop taking this away from HP. I really think because of all the BIG talk some HP fans/parents(?)did before and during the Super NIT on NWBA is why people are talking like this. I don't agree with it, but this is what happens. Everyone just needs to make their predictions and stop all the trash talk about other teams.
balk-why do you find it strange that the RR's have a player from out of state? Not sure if he is from Tennessee, I thought he was from NC. The Astros and other teams have players from out of state too.

Not hardly! Just a parent of an ECB kid that saw HP play good baseball that weekend, but growing tired of these #1 predictions. I still say that people will enjoy a teams victories more if they remain humble......Does anyone know how to be humble anymore?? |

Smoke....Trust me when I tell you this....Knucklecurve is NOT a Chilidog in disguise....A Northsider through and through, but obviously wants to give credit where credit is due (HP ).... |
