Teams,
I was able to clear the fields at ATPP Monday May 9 and Tuesday May 10 to complete the 11u Slugout Tournament if you guys are interested. This is 4 weeks away so hopefully it gives everyone enough time to plan if interested. Sorry but these are the only days I could clear so hopefully it works for all.
Let me know if your team wants to complete what we started.
I THINK THIS IS AWESOME FROM THE TD AND SOMETHING TOTALLY UNEXPECTED> HOPE ALL CAN MAKE IT. |

Tournaments are really designed to assist the 14-18 YR old and higher get exposure to scouts etc. In the past they were a way to get good talent together and then pitch that to the scouts. Scouts hate travelling all over the place, and if you have a central tournament, then they are more likely to come.
I agree that the cost of league play is much less but I don't agree with tournaments being silly at this age. Tournament allow players and teams to play againist other players and teams from different areas. As well as play againist better teams. If you want to play to same teams and the same level of competition stay in Rec ball. |

NWBA is not Rec ball. FYI I know tons of coachs that travel to Florida to only play 3 East cobb teams. Seems like a good use of money. There are 20-30 quality teams you can schedule games against in the Atlanta area and save the 200$ premium for playing in a tournamnet. Plus in a tournament your first 2 games are ususally against the other teams 8,9,10 the pitcher. How does that make your team better? |

For some teams playing league ball is the answer....But if your goal is to play the best teams around you just won't find that in a league. While people might consider tournaments silly, the coaches who like tournaments probably think playing the same AA teams over and over silly as well....To each his own, but a top major team(playing the best is also silly according to some) wouldn't get any better playing in a league with weaker teams. The reason coaches travel out of state and play 3 EC teams is because there is 15 EC teams per age group instead of 2-3 like it used to be.....Watching a team strikeout 25 times and make 20 errors per game is painful to watch!! Tournaments are here to stay and IMO provide more opportunity for boys to get reps than a league would... |

You only need 3-4 pitchers to play and succeed in a travel baseball league. I have 10 kids who want to pitch. The only way to do that is via tournament play, in my opinion. |

We can agree on this one 1000%......We had some really good rec ball teams playing 2 sometimes 3 games a week, and we had 3 good pitchers and we had great success....I don't feel we could have that same success playing tourneys.....We have 7-8 kids who have taken the mound so far this year. |

Now how many of us spend 37 bucks for a bad meal a year? Probably more than we have rainouts. It is what it is and have no problems with rainouts except it ends up being a bored weekend with no ball.
Yeah but you don't take 2-3 days out of your schedule to eat that meal. We lost 2 days of play this weekend bc we simply chose the wrong tournament in the wrong place via the wrong TD. We didn't lose any money, but sometimes it's the money AND the day(s) lost when you want the boys to be playing. |

This was the thought since it was called the first time, we just didn't know what Mon/Tues dates would work out best for everyone. As far as I know, everyone should be able to make it and get this one finished out the right way. |
