Hats off to Sandy Plains for putting on such a great event. It didn't hurt that the weather was outstanding for this time of year.

8 teams (ECB Braves, OP Sharks, West Forsyth, GA Bandits, Acworth Warriors, GA Red Sox, Cobb Aces and ECB Wolfpack) and there was some great competition. Pool play seeded into an Ultimate division and a Select Division.

#1 Braves, #2 West Forsyth and #3 Sharks went 2-0 in pool play. Bandits and Warriors went 1-1, but Bandits won tie breaker.

Braves beat Bandits in first Semi with something like a 10-5 score. BUT, Bandits had a couple of homeruns with the 2nd being a BLAST.

Sharks win other semi against West Forsyth, 17-3.

Braves win Championship, 10-9 over Sharks. Sharks held 9-5 lead going into bottom of 6, but Braves battled back to tie the score to push the game to extras. Sharks go scoreless in top and Braves push across 1 for the win and Ultimate division championship.

Acworth Warriors defeat GA Red Sox, 5-4 to win Select Division.

Thanks again Sandy Plains for hosting such a great event!!!

Phattso,

Your team looked good - excellent hitting and pitching. We struggled finding the plate against you in the semi's - but we look forward to a rematch soon. Perhaps in the Slugfest!

Thank you, sir!!! And trust me, we know that game is not how it will ever go again. You guys will be ready to pound us next time and I just hope we are ready!!! We have a LONG way to go and if anyone was watching, we have to lock down our defense to compete with the big boys. BUT, I'm very proud at how far this new group has come together in such a short amount of time.

VERY IMPORTANT---- This tournament was dedicated to a fallen state trooper. It felt great to be a part of something bigger than the game. Very real story that puts everything into perspective a little more.
