I like the Bandits too. I like one of the 643 teams or Titans to finish second.....whoever gets on the opposite side of the brackets to the Bandits. |

I think that the Titans is going to be the team to beat, just because they played together in the fall and they pick up another big bat and good ball player from south Ga. |

This tourney is missing Sandtown playing the week before in a USSSA tourney
http://www.usssa.com/sports/TournamentSeedingReport.asp?TournID=707365
But chose not to play in the Triple Crown Frost. I know they were entered in 10U TC Frost as we were scheduled to play them in pool play but tourney was cancelled due to weather. I never known Triple Crown not to work through any scheduling issues. Interesting!!!!! |

Why in the world would they enter this tournament? Maybe to gain USSSA points for the Super NIT. Otherwise, it appears that they might be dodging. Don't get me wrong. I think Sandtown is the number 2 team in the state and I think they are an awesome team but why not play some of the better teams in the TC Spring Frost? A lot of the teams aren't going to be ready to play yet for lack of game time, etc. Any Sandtown people want to comment? I am curious.

Yes we are scared to play in this tournament, It's to tough for us, Every thought that some kids are still playing Basketball???? and the Season is not over yet!!!!! We only have enough kids to play on Sunday right now. Please find something else to talk about, Why would anybody dodge a 12 year old game, It's just a game

I never and I mean never try to act like I can predict anything. If I was that smart I might have seen the tie in the Sandy Plains tournament coming but I'm not that smart and just took it that the game taught me and I hope the Bandits another great lesson and that is that nothing is bigger than the game and that the game has a built in mechanism to level the playing field. Nothing and I mean nothing worked and all of the hard hit balls went right to their gloves the first game and then after that one everything seemed to fall into place and the man that figures out when the baseball stars are aligned can become the next great predictor but that won't be Papa.
I can predict that the field is much stronger and that the rest of the big boys will be there with fire in their eyes and the winner of this next one will have taken a big step in the right direction. Let's not forget that Triple Crown's pitching restrictions make it much harder to keep live arms on the bump and the smarter the Coach the better chance you have.

Papa, with respect, I do not think it was by luck that the balls hit in our gloves and stuck. I think my boys battled and my pitcher pitched a heck of a game. My take is we were over looked, which if I were the bandits I would have over looked my team too. |

No Papa did not say it was luck at all. Those that know me know that I would not take anything away from the great game that the Bones played. And it was just that, a great game. Papa has preached for years that if you can find a way to play good sound baseball and get some good hops that you can beat any team and I still say that I am right with that statement.
Papa is as proud of your kids as you are pcb. They played hard, battled tough and played better than the tie. All that watched the game and there were many know that the Bandits were fortunate to muster the tie and Papa was more than glad to get it.
pcb: The Bandits have a bullseye on their back the size of Rhode Island and every 12U team in the nation would love to knock us off and none have came any closer than your gritty team in getting it done. You keep playing all the teams the way you played us and I can promise you that you will have a very successful season.
Good Luck to you and Bones Baseball. |

I can't see any comment by Papa calling it luck either...Bottom line is your team played a very good game PC, you should be proud you stayed that close with the Bandits, very few teams do!!
I'm sure the Bandits are looking forward to playing you in the future as well, good competition will only make them better. Nice debut for your team and we will be paying attention to your team here on out I can assure you that!! |

I have to disagree as well Papa. I was there and saw that game from the 2nd inning till the end. The balls were not hit right to their gloves. Some of those boys made some good plays and their pitcher had your hitters off balance. There were only a couple of hard hit balls as I remember.
Until # 20 was brought in they hit every pitcher the Bandits put on the mound. Once 20 hit the mound they struggled with his velocity. Going in to the 5th inning it was 4-0 Bones. I honestly believe that playing on a 275 ft field had a little to do with equalizing the power the Bandits have as a team. It allowed their outfielders to play deep and made most of those outfield hits normal fly ball outs. Thats just baseball.

Some of you guys really need to get this into perspective. First of all, it was a pool game. I will never understand why anyone places so much importance on a matchup during pool play. If anything, it worked out better for the Bandits as we got in an extra game this weekend that we wouldn't have had we won the Bones game. After seeing how poorly we played in the first game, an extra live game is just what our boys needed.
G-man, our pitching prior to #20 entering the game was just fine. We only gave up 2 hits for the entire 5 innings !!
Stop reading things into what is said. No one is trying to take away anything from the Bones team. They played great, were very poised and were well coached. They took advantage of the mistakes we made in the field and almost beat us. That's baseball. Papa and I have both said it before - if you come to the field and battle with every pitch, you have a chance to beat anyone. Bones proved that this past weekend. |
