Show some FAITH for the local boys!

I say EC Longhorns and Young Guns in the ship.

Longhorns winning it all....

I have seen the Young Guns play twice in I guess 18 months. They are a very tough team, they will make other teams throw the ball around and run wild on the bases, and they have a couple kids that throw a hook....Not the nastiest we have ever seen but decent curveballs with really good movement.

If we get to play, I would think it's Young Guns to lose. They are just a little behind Braves and Stealth from what I've been told. They have some top players and I think this is mainly the former FL Legends team.

IIRC, they are both dirt infields but don't know how well they hold water. With all these teams, not sure a make up is going to work, too complicated.

They don't drain that well at Midway, its all going to depend on if they take precautions before the rain hits with tarps and stuff, but I doubt they will.

Most of the county fields are well maintained and can take quite a bit of rain. The county crews do a great job after the storms. Midway and Sanwee fields will be Ok, Dobbs Creek & City could be a problem. Batters boxes and the second base areas are tough

I know a couple kids from that team, just from past tourneys. I believe there are only a few boys that have ever played for the Legends team now playing on the Young Guns. It is very hard to tell because every great player from Florida is on EVERY SINGLE major roster!! Seriously tho, it is just a different world down there. I think the Braves and Stealth are both better than the Young Guns, but the Legends is IMO better than all three. Just the two times I got to see the Legends last year it is easy to see they are a special group.

legends dont exist any longer, team split to several different teams from what ive been told by FL people is that Florida Rays are the team to beat in the state with Team Florida and West Florida Young Guns right behind them. Ive seen the Young Gun group twice, one at 8u at the AAU in Disney and then at 9 when they brought the Kitchen sink to try and take down the Braves at ATPP, and failed. Never saw them last year but it sounds like another good group for 11u.

The same thing happened with Mizuno Glory 10U a couple years ago when our boys were 9. They were awesome but broke up with kids going a couple different ways. Eventually almost all of them found their ways back together and formed the MBA Pride. Very good team and the HC is also the manager for Bethune Cookman near Daytona. Those Florida guys get to practice a lot, I've noticed the defense is usually extremely good with teams down south.

Here is what triple Crown lists as their rain out policy, how is the team gate fee affected?

17. Refund Policy: There will be a $100.00 administration fee charged for complete rain outs; 1 game played = 50% of entry fee; 2 or more games played = no refund.

Hi All -

I sure hope ALL of the weather folks are off (wouldn't be the first time!). One thing I know that we'll agree on is both Tony & Donny of TC are really good to work with in the event of rain-outs. We had some TC tourney's rained out in the fall and found they are extremely fair, and they really will try to do the right thing.

I'm hoping that we all get to play ball, but if not - I'm sure Tony & Donny will work to do the right thing for each team.

Looking foward to seeing everyone @ the ballpark, and good luck to all teams!

I hope they work real hard to get the games played. We dont mind helping get the fields ready in the event of a down pour as long as it is not lightning. Please dont cancel at the first hint of rain. We are prepared to play late into the night or all day on Sunday. If its too wet to play Saturday then divide the brackets for Sunday play !!! Just my two cents worth.

Our intention is to play as much baseball as we can. Forsyth County has their staff lined up to work on the fields in the event of rain. We'll play ball as long as field and weather conditions allow it. Any delays will be determined by how much rain we get, when we get it, the condition of the fields and how long it will take to get the fields ready.

Unless Forsyth County has a truck load of Super Soppers and a few retractedable roofs this event is over.

Thunder,

I hope you can give an update for the 1pm start time earlier than 11:45. Some of the teams playing are over an hour away and this does not give people time to get the update and still get to the field on time. We already had to drive up there this morning and got the first update 15 minutes before getting to the park. Then sat there for over an hour waiting for the next update. Had to drive home instead of sitting somewhere up there over three hours. Even 11:30 for the next update would make a huge difference.

More then an inch of rain is on the way tonight, don't see how this will continue short of a miracle. Too bad because there won't be a tournament this big for a while.

So, for the teams that played one game that will cost you almost $350 since you only get half the entry fee back.
