I haven't seen the Buzz team but I saw plenty of the Longhorns team playing up in the 9's last season and have a hard time believing any 9U team in the state could handle them easily. Maybe they could travel down 75 and hookup. |

Saw the same game, but man, the Longhorns looked good. They have pitching and defense galore. There were about three or four plays in that game that were complete highlight-reel defensive plays by the Longhorns on hard shots that got hit at them. I have to agree with one of the previous posters - I don't think any 9U team is going to easily handle the Longhorns. I think Buzz will give them a really good game if/when they play, but it would be close either way. |

With the Raiders, Yarddogs and Longhorns the only 3 teams playing at the Blue Jays Invitational.....should be a good evaluation of where 3 of the highest touted teams stand early in the season. |

I wanted to say that ECB and USSSA put on a great tournament this past weekend. It is good to see such a great group of teams compete on a great stage. Very good games with the semi's having ECB Longhorns vs ECB Wolfpack (they played with a lot of heart all weekend, hats off to them) and NG Renegades vs Lake Lanier Copperheads. Championship game between ECB Longhorns vs NG Renegades. Renegades taking the victory 8-3. Congrats to both teams for making it, it should be an exciting season. |

We will see where some teams stack up this weekend in the Back to School Backyard Brawl. What a great field. Better bring your "A" game to win this one. Good luck to everyone. This is gonna be a good one. |

We're in mid-May now and a few more tournaments have been played. Who are now considered the top 5 and why? |

Longhorns are no better than the other 5. I will say there may be 10 teams that can beat each other on any given day but the longhorns are no better than any of these teams when they all throw there ace ask the renegades who handled the longhorns. |

The top five in my opinion are:
1.Ga team raiders 2.E.cobb longhorns 3.Buzz baseball 4.Homeplate 5.Gamers
There are several more teams out there that are excellent and could play with any of these teams but tha raiders are still the one's to beat with their strong pitching and always strong defense. The longhorns deserve to be in the top five because of their defensive ability and the way that they hit the ball. Well, buzz is just buzz, but i heard that they got beat by the Rbi rangers out of tennessee this past weekend as well did homeplate. Homeplate is deserving of the top five due to their defense, it's as good as anyone's and they have good pitching.I noticed that they won seventeen games in a row before meeting the rbi rangers last weekend. The gamers are all around solid and very well coached, they can hit, pitch, play defense and could beat anyone any given day. Their are many more teams that are very very good out there and could beat anyone of these teams if they played a stellar game. |

I saw on usssa that the rbi rangers scored 57 runs and gave up only 6 in 5 games. They run ruled the buzz 10-2 and homeplate in the championship 15-2.They also beat generals 18 to 0 and chattanooga colonels 8 to 2 and the tennessee terminators 6 to 0. They must have good pitching and defense to hold those 5 teams to 6 runs. |

Just a quick refresher, West Forsyth Dawgs beat the Raiders, Buzz and RBI Rangers this season. And yes, I do agree that there are many great 9u teams this year and anyone of them can beat any other one at any time. It is awesome to have this much talent in this age group and it is only going to get better as we go along. |

RBI busted the Buzz in the chops and looked good doing it, no question they have talent and strong coaching. I am sure the boys want another crack at them and will not look past them like I think they did. Not an excuse or discounting RBI, they were far better that day. I think anyone who says that this or that team is number one and every one else follows far behind is delusional. I mean we all love our kids and are all homers but come on. It truly is week to week and personally I like it. I think it is better for the boys learning that they need to fight every time out and that a trophy will not magically appear on their shelf every Sunday night. Good job RBI (and good sportsman to boot). |

Well said Stinger, it will be interesting to see all these teams grow over the years and see if any teams really begin to pull away. In regards to those who say the Raiders are number 1. Is there a reason for that? Are you basing that on the Super NIT, and if so what have they done since. I have seen them back out of tough tournaments, and the ones they have entered, they did not fair so well against other teams like WF. |

How about thoses ECB Braves 9u knocking off the ECB Longhorns 9u in the AABC championship 7-5!!!
What's even more remarkable is that the Braves went down hard to the LHorns 19-2 in pool play.
Way to re-group and comeback stronger Braves.
That might make 3 times the Braves bested the LHorns this season!!!
In an incredible season of anyboby winning it all on Sunday, can't wait to see what happens next.

Amazing the parity in this age group! And it's not like the talent seems watered down. There just seems to be about 10 or so teams who, on a given day, can take down a tournament. It makes for fun weekends. It will be interesting to see if this changes over the next few years. |

Can't speak for anyone else but I"ll explain the whole "Raiders #1" thing...as my earlier post suggests, Buzz Baseball was the best I had seen so far and as stated earlier by many, any 1 of 10 teams any weekend. Now, since this age group was 6 and the half the raiders were Bluejays, they've dominated. Yes, they've lost games along the way but when it counted, they always hoisted the biggest trophy. Until I look up and someone else is standing on top, for me its the Raiders. With that being said, its a great conversation piece and for the record.....We're gonna upset 'em all! Ha ha ha. Goooooo Gamers! |

Okay, so if there was a 10 team tournament to determine who's the best on the field, what 10 teams (from GA - Sorry RBI) would have to be invited???? Maybe 12. |

If I recall the Raiders didn't win any titles when it counted the most when they were 7.....just saying!
