I wouldnt see two EC teams in the final unless others play each other early in the bracket. I will wait for the final teams to pay before a final prediction but lots of really good teams. Look for Lightning and Longhorns to go far. Shiloh- Rays -Barret should not be far behind. Depends on matchups and whether their is a gold/silver bracket. Notice I didnt put our team in the mix. We will see which Moccs team shows up and how many we play on Saturday.
does anyone know how pool matchups are decided? |

MadSkills, winning is clearly not an accident but it is possible to pick and choose your way to a good record. I think the East Cobb Stars had a losing record vs. major teams but would beat the heck out of most AAA teams, it is all in who you play....It is like college football....kinda like the Ohio State/SEC argument, we hear it every year. Now its Boise...nobody knows how strong they are because they play cake teams and blow them out....Remember Hawaii a couple years ago??
And Gwinnett, we were a part of the 2010 10U Signature Park team. I know all about how they run that deal over there, and I still believe they would have that team and it would be stronger if we had pro coaches from the beginning. But having said that I don't think we won any more or less games with the pro coaches after we got them, by then our team was pretty good and we had already lost our 3 or 4 weak players. The drawbacks to the pro coaching were very apparent as well, instead of waiting until we found the right players to complete our roster we added 3 or 4 kids purely for financial reasons. These players didn't help our chances at winning and every time we tried to bat 9 there was a TON of complaining. So for the first two months of our season we were a glorified rec team and had an inning a game with no offense, sometimes two innings....I have all the respect in the world for Kevin but I think the financial interests outweighed whether or not we were successful. |

What about this Bandit Baseball team? They finished 2nd down in PC for the grand slam world series week 1 and just beat the Gamers Red on Sunday.
Perhaps them and this Wills Park team will be two teams you won't want to face this weekend? |

does anyone know how pool matchups are decided?
Heard the huge 1B from the Longhorns left their team, if so that could be a big blow to their chances. Shiloh is still my team to beat this weekend. |

Last time I checked, they were a AAA team and unitl they are classified as Major or commit to a Major schedule, its unfair to pound them about what they have or have not done in the past.
Shiloh and the NG Bulldogs face off 5-7 times every season and have done so for the last few years. They can compete with (and beat) any 11u team in the State. And they don't have to recruit outside their general area or have a 20+ man roster to cherry pick from like some of the Major teams do to go play NIT's and such. You guys will find out soon enough how competitive they are. They have plenty of field space and if theri are any Major teams who want to play them so badly, they should just give Brett a call. We'll even come over and make it a round robin.

Sorry guys, I know you all missed me. I've out of the country on business for a few weeks and just now getting back into the groove. As far as the TC State tournament, I don't have a dog in this fight but me Shiloh looks like the big dog on the block. With 18 teams, I'd imagine the top 10 advance to the gold bracket and the remaining 8 to the silver???

| Bandit Baseball is an up and coming team. They picked up the 2B from the Signature Park team and two of The Select's better players from last Spring. Not quite ready for the big boys, but could sneak up on someone if they overlook them. |

Longhorns are shorthanded as our 1B left for another team, hopefully we can make the Gold bracket and take it one game at a time.  |

Looks like the Rays have paid and the Bandits or Ec Yankees are on the bubble.
I wouldnt crown Shiloh just yet.. It really depends on the early matchups. The Lightning should be strong.. Pitching should definitely be the key with the triple crown rules .. |

| Bandits have put together solid group of kids this fall. This weekend will be kind of piece together with some kids playin football others out of town and 1 injury. Don't no if we have enough to win it but can compete with most. Should be fun either way. |

Any interest in playing Halloween weekend? Trying to put together 8 solid teams, got the Laurens Lighting, 643 and 1-2 EC teams coming to ATPP for a high AAA/major tournament. Still need more solid teams, let me know.
This goes for any other teams out there as well.

The game schedules are out and oh my, pool A is a quite the doozy. You have the Roswell Hornets & Barrett teams with 2 pool games vs the EC Raptors & Rays, this is the toughest pool and 2 very good teams will not make it to Gold on Sunday.
My predictions for the teams to make it to Sunday's Gold Bracket, in order:
1) Laurens Lighting
2) EC Titans
3) Shiloh
4) EC Longhorns
5) Middle Georgia Mocs
6) Bandits Baseball
7) EC Rays
8) Barrett Baseball or EC Raptors |

The key to a tournament with 2 brackets is going to be run differential, don't get blown out and try to blow out your opponent. There might be 6-8 teams at 1-1 only on the first 3-4 are getting in. Why? Because you'll have at least 4 undefeated teams at 2-0 and more likely 5 as the EC Titans, EC Longhorns, Lightning, Mocs and Shiloh should finish 2-0 in pool.
There are a few good match ups but most games are predictable, I see a Shiloh final against either the Lightning or Longhorns. Shiloh won this going away last yr and I expect the same.

I've looked at the schedule pretty closely and to me, the Longhorns and Shiloh teams have the easiest paths to the top 2 seeds. The Laurens Lightning and EC Titans better be on the upset alert with the Jackhammers, wasn't this the team that upended the Rays a few weeks back???
Also, many have the Rays in the semi's, Barrett and Roswell are no pushovers. They can't afford to save the big guns for Sunday, pitching your #3 or 4 player is a must. Raptors might be a wild card in all this, has anyone seen them this fall? Picking up the EC Tigers #1 arm has them feeling good about any game they feel they need to win. Wouldn't surprise me to see all the teams in pool A at 1-1.
This feels like the Friday before a big weekend of college football, can we start the tailgating now? I sure am hungry, let's fire up the grill! |

It's for both brackets, for the gold bracket, teams seeded 1, 2, 7 & 8 play each other at 8:30PM.
In the Silver bracket, teams seeded 9, 10, 15 & 16 will play at 6:30PM.
Very good chance some teams will play their 3rd game that night. |

| Thanks Tae .. makes a little more sense now. I just didnt figure they would make 1 and 2 seed play third game on saturday. Next questioin. Why does the bracket place 1 plays 7th or 8 seed etc. What would change ? |
