This looks like a spring tournament, having almost 20 teams is rare for the fall. Based on triple crown rules and the number of teams, you better have 7-8 kids that can pitch on Sunday's because there will be 4 bracket games at least.

Pitching rules and courtesy runners are the two big ones, game times are 1:45 as well. 6 inning limit until you reach the 5th game, then you gain 1 inning for every extra game. The big thing is 1 pitch equals 1 inning even if no outs were recorded.
Also, no courtesy runner if your batting continuous lineup and they also allow for a DH. |

Add the GA Grays to the mix, many of the top 2011 teams will be in this now. "You can't stop them, you can only hope to contain them" |

Pool games should be interesting since they will break this into two brackets. Some 1-1 teams won't make the cut, Shiloh was impressive last year and won it easily, can they repeat? |

As of right now there are only five teams in this tournament. That would be the ones in Caps. |

Nut,
Yes, only 5 teams have paid but TC tournaments are solid and you can expect to have at least 14 of these teams actually show up. |

This is the last big tournament of the fall, I think the final number will end up being around 14-16 teams.

That's a really good looking field! Have only seen a handful of those teams play this fall, so the Swami will not hazard a guess to risk his unblemished record. Where did the ECB Spartans come from? My middle son's team plays the Atlanta Blue Jays, and a lot of the boys on that team came from the Yard Dogs, so I assume they're from the same area. |

IMO, I see another Longhorns - Rays match up. The Longhorn's seem to have their number but alot of good teams are listed so they may meet before the ship. Very strong event if all the teams get their fees paid by Tuesday. |

oldschool,
Why no love for my Shiloh team? An all EC final won't happen, I will say 2 will reach the semi's though. |

They did win the Grand Slam....But they had three kids that are no longer playing with them....They did pick up two other really good kids from Signature park(different two Sig Park kids who went to Panama), but lost one of their top two players from their regular season. He is now with the ECB Stars, I think Shiloh will have a good showing next weekend but the teams that have been playing against top talent all fall will have an advantage. I think that similar to the last 3 or 4 years of tournament baseball the team that is the favorite to win is usually the team with the strongest bottom 3-4 kids. From what we saw in big tourneys last year and this fall at the SC Super NIT a team with 3 or 4 studs and 3 or 4 rec kids really doesn't stack up against a team with 10 solid kids. Also, will the coaches who have claimed they will play a major schedule finally be willing to bat their best 9 to win a tourney??? Haven't seen any of the really really dominant teams bat 11 or 12 in a long time, even in pool play...Should be an interesting weekend. |

Shiloh is looking forward to this event which is turning out to be the best event team wise this fall. With 9 boys playing either football, basketball or hockey this fall, we haven't practiced at all over the last month and still aren't sure who can play that weekend, so we are just hoping to be competitive. Not expecting anything more than watching some real good teams. |

It is truly amazing to me how much love Shiloh gets on this message board. First of all Shiloh has never played in a real major tournament......Meaning a tournament that had the Braves, Stealth, Yard Dogs, Stars, Rays, Grays, Gamers Red all in the tournament at the same time. Never played in a Super NIT locally or out of town (Major). The Grand Slam win last year was with players from the Sig Park team.....But for the last 2 years they get highly ranked and are always being considered one of the best teams in the state.
They were 30 - 4 last year in AAA and the only significant AAA win was against the EC Rays ..... Now Im not saying that the team is not a good team but before they earn a pre-season top 5 ranking they need to play and beat a top 10 team......For that matter pay the entry fee for the tournament next week.....If they show up....
P.S. Shiloh Coach I have heard the family thing and this and that about the neighborhood kids and we just want to play baseball.....And the GGCBL schedule all that so save it ..... Come out and play ..... see how your team really stacks up ..... Just maybe you all are as good as your fans say you are.....Call out #1 (FALL) |

How many players are back from the Grand Slam team? Also, how many games have the new players played together? Pitching is much different at 11u and 50 feet. 70 ft bases adds another factor to consider. Maybe the Titans will play well but some of the other teams have played 15-20 games already this Fall.
Should be very interesting! |

My pick is Shiloh. 2nd place will be an EC team. Maybe Longhorns or Rays. |

Pretty sure 8 or 9 are back from the Grand Slam team.....All of the new players played their entire season together last year and were among our best from last year....I thought Sig Park had a strong team and Shiloh picked up our #2 pitcher and our starting catcher and they are both studs, I think they will instantly not only have an impact but be among the best on the team..... I think they will be competitive regardless how many games they played this fall....and I agree 100% with OldSchoolDad about the new field dimensions....They make it more of a hitters game unless the pitcher has a good breaking pitch and uses it often. Nobody is getting blown by with 60mph anymore....I wish it was already spring time..... |

D'tape, you hit the hammer on the head or should I say the bat on the ball about shiloh. I would like to see if they add up with the big boys.
Spartan, great point about pitching. Unless you can throw 70+ all these boys will be hitting it. Its going to be all about spotting the fast ball or breaking the ball. No more throwing it over the plate at this distance. If you do, you will be punished with lots of hits!

Spartan, we train over at RENZ baseball and I was talking to Kevin Renz (pro training facility that trained all teams at signature park) and he was telling me there will be no 11u signature park team because they lost players to other teams and didn't get enough to show up and earn a spot at tryouts. This was as of 1 week ago. I was surprised to hear. Great team, I guess thats what you get when your coached by PROs. A consistant winning team that is...... |

They've played about a dozen games are undefeated, thus my ranking them #3. Whether or not your playing majors, winning that many games is not an accident. Perhaps an all Titan final with the EC Titans & Shiloh? |
