Come on pop, I know you are a little frazzled due to the beating your Bama team took this weekend, but "huge"???? Come on.....Never mind what your in class record is now, let's wait and see how it looks in the real season when baseball is really played. You can always say you won the battle in bama in the fall though, I guess that is a good thing...hahahahaha |

Hey whit...and all. The HP team looks very good. The Stixx looked very good through the weekend. Things vary so much from weekend to weekend (players have family reunions, commitments, etc...) and sometimes key players can't be there. The Stixx were missing one key player, but were able to pick up two solid guys who helped all weekend.
The championship game in Auburn showed the HP bats in the first inning, then they scored only 1 run the rest of the way. The Stixx showed fantastic pitching through two games Sunday, then looked like they ran out of gas in the championship. They were completely flat.
Either way, the HP team and the Stixx are definitely teams in the top 5 or 6 discussion of Georgia 13U.

For the record, for anyone who wasn't there. Although the score might not reflect it, the Stixx played a great game in the championship. They were on their third straight game without a break and had 1 bad inning. Take that one away and it's a 1-0 game. To their credit, after a rough first inning they never for a second gave up. Most teams would have given up but they played hard to the last out. We, or at least I, know they are still the team to beat from the southside, but hopefully now HP will be part of the same conversation.

I agree, Stixx vs HP match up well. HP played a couple of bad innings on Saturday and the Stixx took advantage. On Sunday it went the otherway. Should make for a fun spring. The HP boys played out of their minds all day on Sunday. Bats were hot, pitching was great and good solid defense by all. They may never have a day like that again but it sure was fun to watch. They have worked very hard together this fall and it was a nice way to end our season. The boys really gelled together and everyone's looking forward to the spring. |

I would have like to seen Collins Hill and the Titans over in Auburn. That would have been very interesting. Who's supposed to be better Titans or Pride? I know Pride have beat them once. but that was on Saturday. |

Beisbol u must be with the stixx? I notice both teams had 3 games that day. HP started @ 8:30 Am. and you guys started around lunch time. HP should have ran out of gas before you guys. And your not gonna win many ball games if you dont score any runs. So either HP's pitching was dominate or your Bats ran out of gas too. Either way though both of You guys should represent well for the south. Whole different ball game up here though. |

Agree Stixx are a very good team...however HP scored 6 in first, 2 in 3rd, and 1 each in the 4th and 5th to make 10 and the game was called due to run rule.. Runners on base all night and had a runner thrown out attempting a triple off the wall in right. Not the it matters but it wasnt just 1 good inning. |

I can tell you exactly what happened. HPCD played lights out on Sunday. No question about it. That's what happens when you knock the cover off the baseball. They also got some very strong pitching. I would say the best two teams this weekend were in the championship. Stixx had to battle for 14 innings to get to the championship while HPCD run ruled both of their opponents. Those 4 extra innings that Stixx had to play were huge. Wish we (CBA Cyclones) could have got a shot at HPCD. We couldn't battle past Stixx. Not that it would have mattered. I'm not sure the Yankees or the Phillies could have beaten that team yesterday. |

Easy Burtlively, HP can't be that good. Let's see what they do when they play RR, Astros,Braves, 45's, etc. You start run ruling teams like that, then you have done something. |

Never said HPCD was anything but the best yesterday. Heck we may have been the best today, but unfortunately we weren't the best yesterday. I'm telling you HPCD was very good yesterday. As for our other kids, one isn't playing this fall due to football. He'll be back in the spring. The other kid's dad started his own team. |

I did hear HP went absolutley bananas with the bats on Sunday. Scoring 32 runs. For real did you guys face any pitching or did the other teams use it up before they faced ya'll? |

Honestly the bats were good but pitching was GREAT!!! Anytime you can go through those teams and give up 1 run you got a pretty good chance. HP threw 6 different pitchers and had plenty left at the end. Great defense all day long...All 3 teams threw top pitchers it was just one of those days. |

Man, such jealousy! HP had a great tournament. Why can't anyone let them enjoy it? I'm sure they know that not every Sunday will be like that. I'm sure everyone knows there probably better teams out there. Why do a bunch of grown men that don't even play feel the need to diminish what the players accomplished this weekend? There were plenty of good teams there and to say there wasn't is disrespectful to those other teams. Just because it is fall and not in East Cobb doesn't make it any less of a win for the players. They beat some good teams. Let them gloat a little. Come spring they will probably be on the other end of some beatings. When that happens you congratulate the other team, not come up with reasons why that win was valid in your eyes. With all the time, money and effort that goes into travel baseball they are be entitled to a little pride in their victory, as all teams should be. They are probably a little extra excited because they've heard all the comments from others on here about how they're not a legitimate major team. |

Actually HP scored 9 in the 1st and 1 later on. Not that it's that big of a difference. The Stixx beat HP Saturday. But, of course, Sunday counts the most. Anyway, HP looked good. The Stixx looked very good all weekend up until that last game. The HP team will probably get even better by spring and so will the Stixx (who were missing two key players).
Here is the real story. Based on the conversation that is already being bantered around about 13U, it should be a fun, fun year.

Darnell's not trying to rain on the HP parade but felt like someone needed to throw the flag for excessive celebration......we all know HP can play and expect big things from them in the spring. Checkswing your question will be answered next year when HP faces some of that Northside pitching. My guess is they will do just fine. |

Category Thread "Fall Tournament Updates". Lets just give HPC their props. No need to give excuses why other teams didn't perform. If ECB Pride had won, I'm sure we would be hearing how bad the southside was. The better team showed up and took care of business. PERIOD. Lets keep those of you that are saying "Wait till spring" quite till then. This is about the moment. Let the BEST team for today enjoy it. I haven't heard a single negative come out of the south...TRUE CLASS!!!
Side note...everybody has kids playing football. Field your best or don't play. |

I sure do remember, that was a hot BL Outlaws team that we should have beaten and didn't that day....I guess that is why you play the games....I think anyone could have beaten us that day, White Sox, 45's....anyone......

I don't think jealousy plays much of a role with those that are so quick to criticize HP. There are a few haters but very few I'd say and a couple of imposters for what ever reason.
The reality is that this is a legitimate Major team and will handle their business on the field with class. Anyone doubting that is mistaken.
I will say that I think most of the critisism is brought on by the HomePlater themselves. If you know who your own parents are on this board you will see some pretty taunting post and threads by them ( Homeplate ).
Starting a " WE DOMINATED " thread is sure to recieve some negative responses and could also be considered a little disrespectful.
The invitation for a North VS. South war and slaying the dragon drew some attention as well.
It appears that " Some " of the HP parents are not very "Forum Savy".
Knowing the bulk of this team and its history going back to 2006 when they were 8 y/o's this team has always been a class act. I expect that with the new leadership it will continue to be a class act.
I realize this new team has a lot to be excited about, but the bragging and chest beating has resulted in a very predictable response and has already slightly tarnished your teams reputation.
Just let those boys take care of business on the field and all will be fine. |

I agree. I think the reason for the excessive celebration, as some have said, is in response to someone elses post. We didn't even make it home on Saturday before someone posted about how HP couldn't score runs and was just like Ga Academy last year. The boys were definitely fired up after hearing that and came out swinging on Sunday. Otherwise I'm sure it wouldn't have much less subdued. |

If you have 13u kids that need baseball chatroom banter to get them pumped up, you may have bigger issues than you thought...Ga Acadmey was fundemantally sound team and coach Jones is a great coach with a better team this year, I am sure HP will be an extemely competitive team when the REAL SEASON starts........Let the teams like the 45's, HP and the others enjoy it now, because when the SEASON starts, I have a feeling there may be some more competition out there, I don't know, call me crazy....Now, back to football and basketball.. |

point taken aa17dad & whit417, and i agree, sometimes we just get caught up in what someone else says about us and feel the need to respond. no disrespect was intended towards any of those teams we played in auburn, just felt the need to respond to negative comments posted after our first game. we know those comments are intended to get a response from us. thats the fun part of a forum.
btw....one side note on ecb, the n/s rivalry thing is fun, my son even played with one of the better ecb teams up there this fall and we had a blast, enjoyed the kids & the parents & coaches, & we were treated with the utmost respect...so its all good.
hey, lottapop, guess what its time for? |
