Wills Park Scorpions and Elite Bandits in the Championship game now.

Wills Park Scorpions lost first bracket game to Collins Hill 2-1 and have been awesome since.

My Elite Bandits lost the first 2 pool games 16-3 & 13-3
Undefeated in bracket play.
Central Park 8-4
Humble Bulldogs (Texas Major) 3-2

Congratulations to the Elite Bandits! It is a testament to the coaching staff and parents to keep those young warriors focused during an up and down week. There are no words to describe what those boys accomplished, going undefeated in bracket play and taking out top notch teams along the way! Great job!

Looking at the lineup of teams for the three Panama City Grand Slam weeks there are no major teams other than Elite Gamers Red. Where did they all go this year- EC Braves, Yarddogs, Stealth, Grays?

Thanks to everyone for the nice words.

I was impressed with the talent from East Cobb Tigers, Collins Hill and both Wills Park teams.

Our SS #11 was solid all week and made every play in the field.
The Collins Hill #00 was a solid player and hit a long HR.
The East Cobb Tigers had a tough draw but were a very strong team.

What a fun wet week of baseball where Georgia teams showed very well.

I was not able to stay for the Championship Game. Is there any Wills Park Scorpion parents out there to tell me how #34 looked on the mound for us? He pitched 5 innings and being his dad it KILLED me not being there.

We picked up 2 kids and they were a big help. Make no mistake we needed them. I dont think we would have won it without there help.

I dont make excuses for it. IT IS WHAT IT IS.

Not faulting you at all bo. Happy for the 2 kids that got to enjoy something they wouldn't have got to. Iam sure 90 percent of teams playin in grand slam world series are pickin up players some need them to compete some don't.

Biggin, we should give shout out to the Wills Park Scorpions as I do not think they were in that 90% that picked up players for the World Series, I could be wrong........there is something to be said for those coaches committing to their players and sticking with them thru the end of their season ending tournament.....I am pretty sure one big bat pick up or one strong pitcher pick up could have helped in the 3-1 Ship loss....

I think that number of 90% is a little high, it's not like this is Cooperstown. Most pick up players because at this time of the season players quite or part ways for whatever reason. I think the addition of one strong player doesn't have the big impact that most think it does unless your talking about a dominate pitcher but how many of those are out there?

I agree the 90 percent # a little high. I want to make it clear not faulting any team that picks up players. But the fact is the top major, aaa,aa teams in our state have picked up players to play in whichever world series they are playin in. Its clear the reason for it is to hopefully to improve there chances of winning. It is what it is. The team iam with will be playin in session 3 grand slam. There will be a couple teams from ga in it that iam sure will not look nothing like what we have seen all year and that's fine we will do are best with what we got unless a stud pitcher, catcher, shortstop,# 3 and #4 hitter come along. Hahaha

Wills Park Scorpions played with the same 11 players for the entire 71 game season and we are still going for another week. Even losing the first bracket game 2-1 to Collins Hill, we knew we had the right 11 players to claw back through the losers bracket. Hats off to the Elite Bandits for they won the battle against us. I am very proud though to say we gave up 7 runs in the 7 games we played in bracket play. We left sad that we didn't defend our title from last year but proud of what our "team" has done this tournament and all the other tournaments.

Agreed, congrats! The Scorpions had the best defense we saw all season. Sounds like it was just as strong down in Florida.

I tried to give some details on the session II thread but it disappeared???? We ran through the tourney until the last day, the Jackhammers were solid but I feel we played absolutely horrible against them, we dominated the Lufkin Athletics on Friday but they started a STUD on Saturday, 62+ with a legit snap curve. Our team just out pitched them and we had a couple timely hits. Championship game was definitely the best game of the week. I don't want to put all Texas teams down but I saw some super un-sportsmanlike things this week, mainly just yelling ball in the pitchers windup, and 2 phantom tags, plus the parents were just flat out rude to the kids on our team while they were sitting in the same bleachers. Other than that it was a great week of baseball and I know #4 and Big #25 had a great time going back to back in Session II.
