I'm surprised that there is not 1 post regarding the USSSA Elite 32 at Disney. EC Braves went 4-1 in pool, and Stealth Bombers 3-2.
Braves have won their first two bracket games and now have a huge game tomorrow vs the Florida Legends out of Lakeland Florida, who finished 3rd at Cooperstown after earning the #1 seed there.
GOOD LUCK BRAVES!
Stealth Bombers won their first bracket game then lost their 2nd, so tomorrow are fighting for survival. I see the Bombers winning their first game tomorrow, but the next one is too close to call.
GOOD LUCK BOMBERS!
C'mon 10U's, let's talk it up and support our boys. GA Grays, Shiloh Titans, Macon Cardinals, Mill Creek, Sig Park, Yankees, N Gwinnett Bulldogs, Yard Dogs, EC Yankees, Jays, let's hear some chatter! |

Looks like the Legends beat the Braves 2-1, the Legends kid went 6 and the Braves went with their top 2. Must have been some game! |

If the Braves win their next one, they'll earn a re-match. Go Braves!

Good luck to the Braves and Stealth. It amazes me that people still say that this tournament is over rated and that any weekend there is a tournament of equal competition in GA. I love and support GA baseball, but the truth of the matter is while there are 6 or 7 teams that probably shouldn't be there, the majority of the teams there can beat anyone else on a given day. That Miami Brawlers/Megastars/Grasshoppers/SD Stars bracket was brutal and it's not done yet. Stars gone home, but any one of those teams has the talent to win the whole thing. |

Braves just beat North Florida Hurricanes 10-2 and now get the rematch with the FL Legends @ noon today. Quite a run for a team with some major injuries. |

GA Grays: I totally agree with you about the Elite 32. It is THE tourney to compete in, and win. It gets the strongest field of any other tourney, Cooperstown included. In Cooperstown, there are lots of soft teams because there are no qualifiers, just pay and show up.
Winning a USSSA S-NIT is no easy task. Thus, in the Elite 32, you will not find AA teams, or even AAA teams like you have at Cooperstown. Perhaps a weak Major team, or two, that get in due to getting passed a birth from a SNIT winner who already qualified, or through some other maneuver. Overwhelmingly, you are playing the best of the best from all around the Country.

It looks like the Stealth Bombers made it through to keep it from being an all Florida Quarters. Good luck Stealth, time to avenge that earlier loss to the Piranhas. |

Stealth pulled out the unlikely run through the losers bracket to reach the Final Four. We beat the Germantown Giants in the 8 AM game 14-4. Then we had to come back from a 4 run deficit to win the first game against the Florida Pokers winning on a walk off single in the bottom of the sixth. In the final game, we found ourselves down 5-0 only to tie things up in regulation 8-8. The Pokers struck twice in the 7th inning to go up 10-8 but the Stealth Bomberz weren't done. We loaded the bases up with no outs and struck for 3 runs playing ABC baseball to walk off with an 11-10 win in the 7th. Our boys have really battled this week and it paid off with the opportunity to play on Saturday. We were very sorry to see the Braves lose because we wanted the opportunity for an all Georgia Final which has never happened in this event. We hope to bring home the Championship to the State of Georgia. |

Tell the boys how proud the whole State of Georgia is of them, and much we are all pulling for them tomorrow. What fun you all must be having. Go Bombers!

Spartan you would be surprised by the number of people on this board that thinks it's overrated. We enjoyed it last year and made some good friends. That being said, it's probably tougher to qualify for Disney than to play there. |

Is there a site to look at standings? How do you qualify for elite 32?

Check USSSA, you have to win a Super NIT. |

Incorrect. Only 12 of the 32 10U teams that competed in this years Elite 32 won a S-NIT.
20 did not win a S-NIT, and 3 didn't even play in a S-NIT! 1 of these 3 were from another Country, so they get a pass. The other 2 were the Tampa Threshers and the Miami Sugar Kings. I have no idea how they got in. Perhaps there were last minute cancellations, and these teams were just filling a spot to round out the field of 32.
Most of the 20 that didn't win a S-NIT, finished 2nd in a S-NIT, and the winner already had won another S-NIT, so the bid passed down to the 2nd place finisher.

Interesting, can someone explain then how these other teams received an opportunity to play in the Elite 32? If a team doesn't want to play in this tournament, what is the next deciding factor in inviting them? |

Here is how it works: Some Super NIT's give out berth's to only the champion (that is how the one GA worked). Other Super NIT's give out berths to 1st and 2nd place so that is why many of these teams didn't win one. However they finished in second place. The two Puerto Rico teams got in to give it some international appeal. Moser is correct, two teams that already paid $1,000 each dropped out at the last minute so they added the two FL teams (likely free entry) to have a full 32 teams - can't blame them for that. Here is the tough part for GA....We only had one Super NIT, where TX and FL had 5+ Super NIT's. Also, ours was likely the hardest of any Super NIT as it included 4 teams that got to elite 8 in Disney. Braves, Stealth, MegaStars and FL Pokers. In addition to those teams, the Y-Dogs would have been a top 10 team at the Elite 32 if they would have been there. They played in one in Atlanta so I would stack up the ATL Super NIT with any in the country. My point is we should have had at least 3 Super NIT's in GA and they should have awarded bids to first and second place in GA. As for where GA stacks up compared to other states...We are right there with FL and CA top teams and I think a little ahead of the TX teams. The TX teams weren't all that impressive and there were a bunch of them there. We actually didn't play very well and it still could have been two GA teams in the final 4 and we only had two teams enter the tourney. Where as other states had 8 teams so their odds were much better. As for the tourney itself, it was the best competition all year. It was a slightly better version of the battle of the south, which two GA teams made to the final four there (Braves and Dawgs). Every team in Disney except maybe 4 were solid majors. |
