It looks like the TC states in Cumming should be a good tournament. 22 teams so far with one spot left. I see a lot of good teams. The Bandits, 6-4-3, West Georgia Bandits, Georgia Elite and Holly Springs Express just to mention a few. So whats everyone thought on this tournament this weekend.

Jackets gold. enjoy your pool. Pools C through F look good. A&B don't even look like the same tournament.

Thought so and that explains the opinion you have in reference to the Winder tournament.

I wonder what the toughest pool is going to be? Any predictions or thoughts on any of the pool play games.

Papa -- take a deep breath...breathe in, breathe out... Maybe papa and tball could meet at the Triple Crown State this weekend, enjoy a Coke and a smile and discuss what makes a tourney elite. If there happens to be a rematch from last year's semifinals, Bandits vs. Holly Springs, they would have plenty of time to chat while watching some great baseball. That would make a heck of a game, inside and outside the fence!

Papa I personally am looking forward to meeting you. To meet the man behind the comments Lets just hope the rain stays away from our game. All I can say about this tournament is whoever gets to the championship better have a ton of pitching. Anyone who hits the losers bracket should have at least 20 players on their rosters LOL. Its a LONG road from the losers bracket. Heck its a long road from even the winners bracket hahahaha.

Tball: If you keep posting Papa is going to have to change the batteries in my Life Alert. Papa is always up to a good coke and a smile but we will not be lulled to sleep and overlook Holly Springs again and you can take that to the bank. Maybe since Holly Springs is attending I can least tell my friends that this tournament must be elite.

Papa is the one that coaches 3b and occasionally changes shirts during the games when the Bandits need to change their luck.

If Papa changed his shirt during the games there would be women fainting all around the ballpark. Sort of like Fabio. That's a joke but I bet there would be a lot of sick people.

More bad umpiring both in the 9's and 11's. Fortunately, didn't cause any problems for either of my boys' teams.

Tony and his guys did an incredible job getting all of the games played. We didn't finish our second until 2am though !!

TBall bought the coke and Papa furnished the smile and we both got what we wanted when our 2 teams met in the finals but it was good news for Papa and bad news for the TBall as they had already played 4 hard fought games to the Bandits 2 and Bandits won handily 14-0.

There is a lot that I have to say about this tournament and the way some of the teams fought their tails off and I will get to that later but tonight I would just like to tip my hat to Holly Springs, Alpharetta A's and Georgia Elite for showing a lot of heart and grit.

And Papa wants the youth baseball world to know that Holly Springs has a true baseball warrior in their little guy that wears jersey #1 and Papa wishes him well and wants to let him know that he made a real impression on me. I don't predict much but I do predict that this kid will go a long way and that way will be led by his big heart. You could have quit on that play kid but you didn't and Papa won't forget you anytime soon.

Bandits had another awesome tournament and I believe a lot of it has to do with being healthy again and having all the pistons firing together. I know that Holly Springs was tired and worn down but from the way the Bandits have been playing lately they might spend the next 2 weeks in the Bahamas and come back rested and still have their hands full with the Bandits.

OK Boys: Papa has got his 8 hours of sleep now and I want to give you all a heads up of what I saw this weekend at the Triple Crown State
Tournament.

I saw my Bandits perform on a level that I have never seen them compete. They played great with the pitching, hitting, and defense all clicking on all cylinders and when this happens they are a joy to watch.

I saw a gritty little team called the Alpharetta A's that gave their team all that they had to give. I love these type teams that put their noses to the dirt and go to work. Good job A's.

At first the teams from South Georgia didn't impress Papa much at all but before the tournament ended I had a much greater respect for the way that they just would not give up and continued the fight all the way to the end. I am sure though that they have a much greater respect for the metro Atlanta teams now that they have had a chance to see them up close and personal. The Georgia Elite played a great tournament.

I was surprised that the Cougars and Jags were not there at the end as they were what we had prepared for but I am more than sure that we will see these great teams down the line.

West Georgia Bandits are bringing their team along and have made a lot of progress since the last time we have seen them. The score in our game should not be a indicator of how good they are. If you were there you would have known that our pitching was in great shape and that theirs wasn't. They throw their ACE and it would have been on which as you all know would have suited the Bandits fine. Great team that we will be hearing from more and more.

Holly Springs had waited a entire year for this rematch but was totally out of gas by the time it arrived. I know that they would have loved the chance to play us with more gas in their tank but so goes this thing called tournament baseball. Holly Springs proved their worth way before the championship game rolled around and deserves a lot of credit for this tournament. Although we won 14-0 we knew that we were playing a great team that was tired to the bone and was out of pitching. My Bandits are blessed with some great pitching and a lot of it and this proved to be the deciding factor in my book. I knew that Holly Springs would not make any excuses but the facts are the facts and it would be hard if not near impossible to play 5 games back to back in this type heat and be 100% for the 5th game. Just the facts being stated here.

My last and biggest comment to be made is to #1 of the Holly Springs Express. This kid took a hard line drive off this hand and chest that took him to the ground. This kid was hurt and was in a great amount of pain but tried his best to pick the ball up for his team and throw the runner out. One of the greatest displays of heart that Papa has seen in a long time and this is the type thing that gives me goose bumps. Some things a Coach can teach and the kids can learn but this type thing is something you either have or you don't. It is a special gift given from above and this kid must have stayed in line and got 2 doses of it. I always replay my Bandit's games in my dreams and if it's consolation to you Son the highlight of my dream last night was you trying with all of your heart to throw that ball. What heart, What effort and What desire you have. I will keep this play in my memory for a long time.

How's the Holly Springs pitcher doing today?

I just wanted to see some movement out of him after taking that liner ...just roll over onto his back or something...but that wasn't going to be good enough for this little warrior. He starts crawling to the ball behind the mound using whatever still worked, lifts the ball with his throbbing hand, and tosses it towards 1st base before he allowed the pain to overcome him. Safe, or out, mattered not. What a gutsy display of determination.

The pitcher for Holly Springs is swollen and sore today, but xrays of his hand were negative so believe me (his mom), he will be back on the field in no time! I would like to thank Papa and bmoser for expressing their concern and recognizing what a trooper he is.

Also, my son and our family would like to thank the Bandits for the very thoughtful gesture of presenting my son with a game ball. This was truely a class act.

My hat goes off to the entire Holly Springs team for the heart and effort they showed this weekend. We feel very fortunate to be a part of Holly Springs Express. Congrats to the Bandits! Hope to face you again when our boys have a "full tank of gas".

2bballsons, I and the rest of the Bandit family are very relieved to know that nothing is broken with your sons hand. I messaged Bradley this morning to check on him as we were sick with concern. I wanted to take that boy in my arms after I saw him in pain on the bleachers but you were already doing a great job. Please wish him a speedy recovery from #13 and the rest of our families.
