Ok, the forecast is calling for an 80-90% chance of rain. What is the back up plan if the Super NIT get postponed on Sunday due to rain?
Does that change everyone's outlook at the pool games and trying to go 2-0 and keep the runs low in case they award based on the tie breakers? It would be very tough to try and reschedule such a large event. |

Last year I think the Florence Alabama NIT was rained out and the Bandits won due to the pool game results...I think it absolutely sucks to do it that way!! But it is what it is |

Well if sunday gets washed out, what happens to the expense side of the balance sheet for the tournament directors. Do they have to pay the staff and umpires if the rain comes early and they declare the event over and award to the winners based on pool play? Seems to me they would make a bunch more money this way... |

If the forecast holds your best bet maybe to go all out in the pool games and keep runs allowed as low as possible. With an 80 to 90% chance of rain I doubt any games will be played. |

Judging by who's pitched in some of the pool games, seems like many teams have gone with their #1 pitcher in order to keep the runs allowed as low as they can. |

Last year in the 2nd weekend of this same tournament it was cold, rainy, and miserable on Saturday but we played all pool games. On Sunday it was cold and rainy again and USSSA called the games off and declared the Pool Results would be the Final Results. No bracket games were even played.

We played ...cold and wet but not enough rain to stop play. Light rain, windy, cool. Not exactly baseball weather but it is what it is...the fields in Love Joy held up fine. |

I think given the weather they had to deal with, they did a great job at our age group. Think they got both the AA and Major tourament in. Took a lot of work on their part. At one point it looked like they were going to toss in the towel, but the spent the money on the fields and field crews and made it work.
Thanks for getting it done. |
