Just wanted to say THANK YOU to Triple Crown for a great Memorial Day tournament "McCann Summer Classic" Rained all night Saturday and we thought there was no way we were playing baseball, but Tony and the boys worked their tails off on the fields and we were able to complete the tournament!!! |

Agree with camentz. Kudos to Tony and his crew. Also thought it was nice to see a tournament director step in and replace an umpire that was clearly not getting the job done (was not an umpire on our field). We pay a lot of money for these tournaments and I don't believe it is out of line to expect fair, knowledgeable umpires. I wish more directors would pay attention to the officiating as the tournaments progress. All of the umpires we encountered in our games were very professional and fair. Thanks to TCS. |

^^ THIS! ^^
I've said before that parents, coaches, players, etc., should absolutely expect tourney directors to make sure umpires are held accountable for their work. If not, who will? The parents, coaches and players can only gripe (which usually just makes it worse), but the tourney director is writing their checks.
Kudos to Triple Crown for addressing this, esp. in the middle of the tourney.

TC did another tremendous job to get this event in, when nearly all others were cancelled. Huge kudos for another great tournament, during what has been a very challenging spring. |

Really? Was it the HP ump messing up the zone because I think he came over to PG after getting kicked out of TC. |

Triple Crown runs the best tournaments top to bottom--week in and week out. |

HMMM... I am confused, cause we played triple crown and they cancelled our game in the 2nd inning of the championship game and it was not completed, must be different age group. |

We either had the same thing happen, or we're talking about the same game (12U?).....Downpour at 4:30 on an already soaked field didn't bode well for ever getting the game in......I'm assuming other age groups ended earlier.....was a shame b/c it would've been a great game! |

I too am in agreement with them trying to get the games in and I certainly give them props. I didn't hear about the umpire getting tossed, but once again, I have another reason to really like Triple Crown.
Bummer about the final getting called...........do you guys who were there think the field could have been playable within a reasonable time? |

So yes this one went well BUT really 14yr olds playing on park fields with dirt infields? I stand by the fact that they made a fortune on rain outs and seem to be one of the few who think some sort of refund should be given when you lose your gate and they get to pocket over 100 bracket games worth of ump money and field rentals. I have YET to hear a good argument that they should keep all that money. I hear a lot of bashing people who speak against directors for this but never a good argument or debate. Bennett Park is not my idea of a great event at over 800 dollars counting gate |
