Flat Bill Hats and Baseball Pants tucked under the heel of the cleats and hooked on spikes .... what are other observations and where will the trend be next? Will we come full circle to baggy pants, stockings showing, etc?? |

I HATE flat bill hats and am not a fan of the pants hooked. I do like the pants all the way down, but not really the hooked look. I can live with that, just not the flat bill. Year before last, Team Wilson 14u team wore the super old school unis for some tournaments. I'm talking from like the early 1900's - Ty Cobb style. They had the baggy pants and caps with very short bills. Kind of cool, but I don't think it will come back in style any time soon. |

Seems like the neoprene arm sleeves are a new fad. I see them a lot more now.
Baseball necklaces are the latest rage too. |

Taterbug I am right there with ya man!
Also - Alter I'd like to have stock in Phiten!! (sp) What's the ruling on those anyway - I have seenthem allowed in many of our games and tourneys and then have had them ask my son to remove his, even when it was barely showing out of the back neckline. He has a Phiten bracelet too and that one has also been asked to be removed - understandable I guess.
Actually seen a few players wearing stirrups on their own accord - kinda cool and brings back memories. |

I hated the polyester jerseys we had in the mid to late 70's. |

Stir-ups, 2 pair of sanitary socks and Puma spikes in HS for me. Stepped up to Converse spikes in college! |

Just hope the mesh back hats with the high peaks in the front don't come back in style. |

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT THE MAN OR WOMAN WHO INVENTED THE ADJUSTABLE FIT BASEBALL BELTS OUGHT TO BE LASHED 50 TIMES ...IS THERE ANYTHING MORE AGGRAVATING THAN PULLING A 2" METAL CLIP THROUGH A 1" LOOP?!!!? GLAD THESE BOYS DRESS THEMSELVES OR THE NEW FAD WOULD BE EITHER BELTLESS OR FITTED BELT ONLY! |

touchemall, You are talking about the "Trucker Hats" and I also hope they never come back.
Although I have seen the 21st century versions appearing. |

You mean "Bubba Caps" ?? High foam front with the mesh back ?? Usually accompanied by a mullet hair do. Those are awesome |

Kinda like the modern baggy look myself. So does my son. At first, it looked like Ortiz and Ramirez were wearing their pajamas to play, but it's the signature of the era. It helps you to identify the baseball era by being different in its own way. The exact opposite of the era I grew up in - the high socks tight, taut, polyester of the Vince Coleman style. |
