What is the best baseball pitching machine? I coach a 6 year old team but want one that the kids can grow with. I'm looking at the Jugs, Atec and Bata. Any help would be appreciated. |

I like the Hack Attack and Hack Attack Jr. by Sport Attack. http://www.sportsattack.com/baseball-pitching-machine/
This is a three wheel machine that is very easy to set up and operate, it throws fastballs as well as left and right handed curveballs, sliders, and split fingers. Great visibility to the hitter makes it is easy to pick the ball up from the time it is placed in the machine allowing the hitter to time the pitch. It also throws regular baseballs as well.
Sports-a-rama Roswell has the Hack Attack Jr. if you wanted to go look at one. |

Well the best pitching machine is the probatter, however it cost about 45K. The old Iron Mike Machines are very good and you can get a low end one brand new for about $1,400 brand new. The Atec and Hack Attack are all similar in construction and very reliable. The 2 wheeled Jugs are also great machines. It comes down to how much you want to spend. Will you be using it for hitting only? Will you have to move it? Will you have to take it to a batting cage or field? If the kids are young you can get by with a low end model of the ones listed above, even a one wheeled jugs, but I would stay away from some of the really low end models not listed and I would also stay away from the new machines on the market until they are out for a few years. Example Spinball sports. |

My team bought an Atec Casey Pro this past year and we love it. Throws real baseballs or the rubber ones...each up to 100 mph. Also, very easy to change from fastball to right- or left-handed curve balls. |

I would use it to take to practices, so it would need to be portable. I want one that the kids can use to hit and one that can be used for fungo too. |

Thanks for all of your input. I finally bought the Hack Attack Jr and I am completely impressed. It has been absolutely great! |

Have any of you teams tried the Home plate pitching machine. This is the machine the Bandits use and it can throw a fast ball, change up, fast ball, curve with any sequence and changes automatically in 7 seconds. We have really enjoyed this machine. It is pricey but not as high as some of the machines that does much less. It has helped us tremendously as hitting has always been one of weaker areas. |
