Great Tournament, the who's who of GA Elite Baseball along with some great teams from out of state. Who would like to venture a guess of who the final four will be and the eventual Champion? This will definitely come down to the team that can keep it together every game. Also the team that stays in the winners bracket will have the advantage. |

I think that the Legends,Shamrocks,Chili Dogs and the Chiefs will be at the top.The Legends and the Dogs are playing really good ball right now.Shamrocks are playing well also and if the Chiefs fly in all the Team Easton players and that one kid from California well then they would be the top dog to win, unless that big boy for the Chili Dogs gets a hold of them again. |

Keep an eye on the out-of-staters.
Houston Lightning and VA Storm are definitely in the conversation, traditional powerhouses with great pitching and defense. One thing I've noticed is when the Texas teams come to Georgia they usually bring a lot of power with 'em, top to bottom, whereas the VA Storm club is about as fundamentally sound as you're going to find and very well-balanced. The DQ Busters, NF Hurricanes, and Cincy Flames should be tough teams as well. They don't usually travel this far to lose.
The Chiefs are a multi-state all-star team - an enormous talent advantage right there. Definitely in the mix. The Chilidogs are playing as well as anybody in the country right now. They're winning the big games. The Shamrocks looked looked real good this past weekend, it would be hard to imagine anyone outhitting them.
I'm thinking the GA teams are gonna have their work cut out for them if they want to keep the trophy in state. Let's hope we see some good weather...and some great baseball!

My top five.... 1.Lighting...they ain't coming all the way ot here unless they loaded 2.Chiefs...well...they the Chiefs and they are good.they will have a say in the outcome of the TOC... 3.Shamrocks...they look like a high school team...they have tons of talent...this could be a big weekend for them 4. Chili Dogs...this will be a up hill climb for the hottest team in GA... 5. Astros...they are the Astros...they got a favorable pool...they will be in the mix
scary teams for the front runners.... 1. Legends...ask anyone thats played them 2. Mill Creek...ask anyone thats played them 3. Storm...great defense..compete very hard... 4. Dynasty Elite...good lord a SF team...you know they will be loud and tough 5. Cincy...tradition and fundamentals make them scary

I have to agree with your first four but the Astros are not that good.I have seen them play alot of games this year and I have not been to impressed with them. But,they do have the easiest pool play games so they are set up pretty good to start the tournament. |

Wow. Bold statement that the "Astros are not that good". Criteria for making that statement? Go ahead and ask your top 5 teams coaches how they feel about matching up against them. Granted they may not be the Astros of 11, and the 12 year old group is extremely deep, but GOOD? |

Tater,
I have to agree with Slickrick. The Astros haven't impressed this season and after seeing the Legends last weekend in Dalton I give the 5th spot to them. Dynasty Elite is 6th (SF Team could bring a combo of players with loads of talent) Astros are 7th (Favorable pool play could preserve their arms)

I'm not a big fan of the Astros, but I do respect their game. That's too bold of a statement that the Astros somehow fell off. One thing they do have is experience and team chemistry. Right now Legends are hot, but it seems they ran away from all the competition in the AAU states last week with most of top teams around. We'll see this weekend. |

Yeah, the Astros have one crazy loss...and they have been beaten by very good teams...they aren't dominate for sure but they win and are well coached...they have had some injuries too...but they have a favorable pool and that could lead to pitch savings in the TOC...I like your list for sure...Legends are a first year team and ride the waves of a 1st year team...they lost a crazy game to the EC Longhorns where they gave up one hit and they lost the same night to the Chattanooga Colonels and gave up one hit....they are hot right now for sure...I hope the rain holds off...I want to see some of the big boys square off...I was hoping to see some of that Shamrocks- Lighting game...Chiefs- Dynasty should be a blast...some of the SF folks are talking real big....quote: Originally posted by elitebaseball

The Lightning are one of the top teams in Texas according to seriousbaseball.com rankings. If you get a chance to watch them, check out Caleb Morris. He is one of, if not the top 12U player in the Houston area. |

So far this has been a nightmare for finding out the seeding and bracket play. Why can't someone be in charge of keeping scores and schedules current. In Papa's time we had a reason to have to wait but in these times if someone would take charge we could get the scores before the teams packed their bat bags. Come on guys, There are a lot of people that are excited about this tournament and want to be kept up to date. |

Sunday morning in the winners bracket: Legends & Shamrocks have yet to loose in the tournament. Legends now have to play on the big fields all day tomorrow.
Shamrocks vs Georgia Legends 8:00 am Dynasty Elite vs Houston Lightning ? 8:00 am
Chiefs lost 2 in a row in bracket play, ousted by Raleigh team. Chili Dogs lost to Houston late in day. Mill Creek losses close one to Shamrocks. Astros put away weaker teams in losers bracket, late night for everyone. Dust will settle around 11:00 am tomorrow to see who is left standing. |

Earlier in this string it was said the Astros were not that good. Now, they beat "weaker teams". I think anybody who saw this tournament would disagree with the weaker teams estimation. There were lots of surprises and upsets. Teams sent home early nobody thought would be sent home early. The Astros got put in the losers bracket early by the Houston Lighting and battled all day Saturday and Sunday to make it to the final three teams before beaten by Dynasty Elite, 7-5. But give the 'Stros a little bit of credit: beating the Georgia powerhouses Mill Creek Hawks, ECB Longhorns, GA Legends, and HP Chilidogs in consecutive games couldn't possibly be easy. Dynasty Elite and the undefeated Shamrocks in the final.

The "Rocks" pounded the baseball and had dominate pitching - Won 6-4 against Elite. Elite defeated Astros 15-10 in loser bracket and in the final game, the "Rocks" jumped to an early lead and rolled a no-hitter through the final game against Dynasty Elite. Run ruled 8-0 after 4. |

You've got to give credit where credit is due.... Regardless of their performance up until the TOC, the Astros woke up everybody while looking like the Astros of past seasons. Legends continue to gain momentum and look strong. All that being said...CONGRATS to the Shamrocks on a well played tournament. Just may have confirmed that they are the BEST 12u in GA!!!! |

Shamrocks won several close games. That is the mark of a great team...the ability to play well in the toughest conditions and tight games. It was certainly their weekend. Astros were very good this weekend also. The run they made in the losers bracket was outstanding. They sent a whole lot of very good teams home. The Chilidogs had another very solid tournament. They have been able to play very consistant basball all year long..playing deep in almost all of their tourneys including the BIG ones. Legends were rolling offensively this weekend until Sunday where they slowed down a bit. But a very nice showing from a first year team who seems to be getting more confident with every tournament they play in. Dont over look Mill Creek as they had 3 one run loses which just happen to be to the top 3 teams(Shamrock, Dynasty,Astros)
Overall a very nice showing from the Georgia Teams as 4 of the top 6 teams ended up from Georgia.
Great Tournament!!! |

Astros are still the Astros, not doubt about it! The top 5 REAL Georgia teams are: Shamrocks, Astros, ChiliDogs, Legends, Mill Creek. I truly beleve you could shake these up and on any given weekend come up in a different order. Geat tournament, great baseball all weekend. |
