Should be a great tourny. Tony runs a great tournament and has asembled a very strong group of major teams. I am just praying for no rain so we can actually play(10 games rained out in March).

Now only 999 more post to catch Greg.

TW, we were all waiting for you to start the thread. Now that you have, I'll say that this tournament looks very interesting and competitive. But I think it is just another example of just how many good 13U teams there are in this area. Like you though, I'm looking for some thoughts on it from those that are trying to get to 1000.

If Combat added a player(rumor) then they could be one of the favorites. Also up there....Heat(added a player), Crush, SS Longhorns.

Big T,

It's because only us guppies are participating...all the Whales are in NC...

I like your chances with the recent pickup as well as Combat & even though they had a rough go in the ATL S-NIT, I think Coach Miller should have those Crush boys playing a lot closer to where we expected them to be down in McDonough. Need one more to step up to make it a foursome; it would be nice if we could play to our potential and make a run with you guys.

You going to have everyone there this week along with JH?

13U, Heat Plays Crush in Pool Play, if you are correct a 1-1 team will be in the Gold bracket. Think thats possible? Ingy, our group is more like Sharks, a little smaller than the Whales, but we will bite your @$%^ if we get the chance

Like most tournaments that have 2 pool games, you assume there will be one third 2-0, one third 1-1, one third 0-2. So the likely scenario is:

#1-#5 - (2-0)
#6-#11 - (1-1)
#12-#16 - (0-2)

So this means at least two 1-1 teams will be in the Gold Bracket. You are correct in that I didn't account for the Heat and Crush playing each other, so one of the two will drop to a 6, 7 or 8 seed in the Gold Bracket.

Congrats to the Combat for a great tournament. It was my first chance to see them and they are a very good team. Also the Webb Bridge Bulldogs proved they are a very strong team.

They were already a "known" quantity if you did this. That's assuming that you can predict what a team of 13 YO baseball players are going to do from game to game. I sure can't.

Anyway, they are very solid.

Looks like those Fulton Cty teams can play some ball too. Although Cobb Combat won the big prize, place 2,3 and 4 were Webb, Bridge, Will's Park and Roswell, all of the hour glass county!
